Are you going to vote in the November 2008 election no matter who wins the Republican primary?

I’m Catholic and I don’t vote for abortionists. I’ve been voting since 1964.

BTW, in 2004 GWB got 52% of the Catholic vote in 2004.

So far so good.

Well I would hope so.

Not voting would be stupid.

So vote against her I she gets nominated.

“I will vote, but not for a pro abortion, anti-gun, pro ‘gay rights’, candidate who is soft on illegal immigration and border policy—whoever they are.
Let the chips fall where they may.

It makes little sense to shed the blood of our troops defending our country overseas while we (collectively, as a nation) piss it away here at home.”

Worth repeating. BTTT.

Almost certainly.

What I don’t know for sure is what I’ll do if Giuliani is “our” candidate. In that case I’ll... { groan } I’m not sure what I’d do. Hoping not to have to cross that bridge.

Then you don’t accept reality.

Oh well.

The reality is I will not sell my soul for a few pieces of silver.

Dear cradle of freedom,

I have no expectation that a third party candidate will win.

But I’m not going to vote for a baby killer for president, nor a fraud.

Thanks for pointing out the incredible similarities between Rudy and Hillary. I couldn’t have done a better job myself!!!! Thank you…lol

I answered those questions you posed in my last response. If you can’t understand my straightforward answers, what’s the point in continuing a so-called debate with you?

I will answer this one last question about Slick, though. After that, you can have the last word because it’s obviously a total waste of my time to even try to debate someone who is so willing to help elect Hillary--by abandoning the conservative base and its long held, bedrock, core positions—to support a liberal (who will morph the Party into something totally unrecognizable by traditional conservative standards). That is disgusting. Not to worry, though. Rudy, and his Apologists have PROMISED us that they will appoint personnel and implement policies to protect us from liberals like himself!! /s

Slick most certainly DID help make the distinction between conservatism and liberalism more clear. Conservatives believe in limited government and personal responsibility-things which no one will ever accuse Clinton of. Let’s see here, Guiliani is an authoritarian big government bully. Guiliani publicly stated that most of Slick’s positions were similar to his. And among the Presidential candidates, Slick’s pathetic personal life is rivaled by only Guiliani’s. Geeee, do you think that Rudy might BLUR THAT DISTINCTION somewhat? No math even required here (and I won’t even mention ALL of the particular issues that blur that distinction even more from post 429—which, btw, you helped to highlight the similiarities between the two. Thank you again).

The ONLY way that Hillary can POSSIBLY get elected (with her high negatives) is to DIVIDE and SPLIT the Republican Party WIDE OPEN—while demoralizing the base. No one does that better than Rudy. No one. If there is a LIBERAL RUNOFF—there will be only one Party that will UNITED and ENERGIZED. (Again, hint: It won’t be the GOP).

Energy and enthusiasm for your candidate from your base is important, very important (turnout, phone banks, volunteer time, etc), even critical in these days of close elections.

Can you picture a wildly cheering enthusiastic 'conservative base' on the convention floor passionately cheering the acceptance speech from an authoritarian liberal, pro-abortion, gun-grabbing, pro-amnesty, pro-litigation, gay rights crusader who believes in federal funding for abortion, sanctuary cities, global warming, and whose personal life is an absolute ‘train wreck’??? Maybe you can, but I can't.

When you look at the willingness of many here on FR (a supposedly conservative site) to support a liberal like Rudy—comments made by Chuckie Schumer (one of Rudy's liberal buddies) right after this last election come to mind. Chuckie Schumer (someone who will be happy to work in a bi-partisan manner with Rudy on many of the social issues on Rudy’s agenda) was 100% ‘spot on’—when he proudly boasted that, “THE REAGAN REVOLUTION IS DEAD”. When you look at the number of Rudy Apologists willing to support a liberal on here--no truer words were ever spoken. No question about it. None at all.

If you want to elect Hillary, by throwing the conservative base (about 25% of the Party) ‘under the bus’,,,,Rudy is the RIGHT MAN AT THE RIGHT TIME! Knock yourself out. But as far as I am concerned (and many in the base agree with me) liberals like Hillary and Rudy need to be kept as far as possible from the White House. Maybe you can win (if you can call that a win) without the base, maybe not. We’ll see. I don’t think you can, and I certainly will not help. But either way, enjoy your NEW LIBERAL Party. Enjoy Hillary too!

No true Conservative would allow Hillary or any other Democrat to walk into the Whitehouse.

Cuz a Rudy presidency isn’t a whole lot better than a Hillary presidency.

Bookmarked for revisiting the day after the first Hitlery-Rootie debate if it comes down to that.

I read G8 D's home page to see if 'he' was a typical foggy bottom diplo sellout. To my surprise, SHE seems like a bright conservative soph in college. One of all-too-few.

There's no way someone could lurk on FR for three years and not be infected by the AuH2O purists, so it's nice to see that the ideals can have an attractive force in college, too.

But when it comes to the fork in the road, and the Republic can either go straight ahead into the blizzard or straght down into the abyss I think even Ronnie would reach up from the grave and pull the lever for Rooty. Didn't Reagan have some 11th commandment? What was that exactly?

Party affiliation makes no difference. If both the candidates are liberals, the R or D means nothing.

So far this thread is quite encouraging, but there’s still a contingent of pooh-poohers who refuse to accept that their refusal to vote for the Republican nominee helps elect the Rats.

As I said, same as the midterm elections.

Boy, they really showed them Republicans! /sarcasm

Yep. That’s what they’re saying. Pretty stunning, eh?

The 2008 election could be it for the nation. We’re screwed if the democrats win. I suspect a hillary win will mean 56 or 57 democrats in the U.S. Senate. Counting on rino’s like snowe, the democrats will most likely have a filibuster proof senate. The 20 million plus illegals will be put on the path to citizen ship. Probably fast tracked so they can vote in 2012. Millions of convicted felons will have their voting rights restored. The gop gang may not be much better. But at least there is some hope for the nation if our nominee wins.
And I think there is a good chance the gop nominee will win. Hillary is a horrible candidate. Worse then Kerry in many respects. And I think, running on a conservative platform, the gop nominee could get 55% of the vote.
