The center of the city is always secured, because it is very expensive. But look at the suburbs around the city.
I never ventured into the suburbs. Aside from the daily grind of work at SHAPE and dinner at Mons, I rarely traveled. Sometimes I took a drive to Chievres to shop at the PX or install some software. I would often fly from San Diego on Saturday and land in Brussels on Sunday morning. After checking into the hotel near Maisieres, I would take a drive out to Soignies to stock up on water and snacks.
