Wish I could start boycotting NBC, but I did that about 5 years ago.
The company is nothing without their commercials. If you really want to get into their pants, get into the companies CEOs let them know how you feel. Dont buy their stuff, or ovoid it at all costs.

Even better, contact the local affiliate and inform them you intend to contact the local advertisers about NBC’s anti-Americanism and how you would hard pressed to do business with anyone that supported that crap. Local affiliates are in a very competitive atmosphere and they will let the parent company know in a hurry they have a problem.
CNN is so financially hard up it'll accept the order and run the ad, its producers and staff gagging with rage and distaste as it does so.
Fox will gladly accept the money and laugh all the way to the bank.
I'll bet more people read FR every twenty-four hours than NBC and CNN put together have nighttime viewers.

NBC?
NBC who?
Oh, wait, didn’t there used to be a TV network by that name?
Mr. Alan Wurtzel
Standards and Practices
National Broadcasting Company
Mr. Wurtzel:
It has come to my attention that your network has decided not to run an add that was submitted by Freedom’s Watch. This add was supportive our our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. It encouraged Citizens of the United States to keep the troops in their minds this Christmas season. In spirit, I enthusiasticly support such endeavors. Our troops have put their lives on the line for this nation. They deserved to be appreciated, recognized and thanked.
NBC is responsible for determining it’s own policies. I respect that right. In this instance I am unable to support NBC’s decision.
I realize that Freedom’s watch had included a web site address in their add. As long as that site was doing nothing illegal, I fail to understand how you could determine that your network could not sell air time to run this positive advertisement. I cannot understand why this message would offend you. I cannot understand why this web site would offend you.
Let’s reflect on others who have been asked to run this add for the going market rate. First of all, the New York Times has already run a full-page add that included the web site address. CNN and FoxNews are evidently going to run similar adds accoding to the Associated Press. I’m not sure if you would agree, but the New York Times and CNN are both recognized by most conservatives to be very hesitant to present their views in public. That’s why I personally find it so unfortunate that NBC couldn’t do so as well.
There is a feeling that is harbored by a growing number of Citizens of the United States, that major corporations simply do not care about our troops or our nation. That may be a flawed perception on our part, but decisions like the one made concerning this add reinforce that belief. And I find that to be your, our and the nation’s loss. So I have taken the time to address these thoughts to you, hoping that you could find it in your heart to allow this support of our troops this Christmas season.
Thank you for your time.

No sweat. It’s a good topic, worth re-posting. Link just let’s people see prior comments.
NBC has a public charter to use limited space on the broadcast band in a democracy. Yet it cannot air something “controversial” like this. Democracy and free speech involve controvery. Another good reason not to watch (in addition to Olbermann on Sunday night football). They don’t know what they are doing, or they do know what they are doing, and it is not democratic.
Ads are expensive. Do you think another commercial on anything over bid them. Did Freedom Watch think to increase the price they would pay for the ad? NBC is all about money. Freedom Watch should know that.
Didn’t NBC run “The West Wing”?
People loved that show for a long time even me at first, but after four seasons the show got boring. It lasted eight seasons about four to long in my opinion.
I suggest you post emails to congressional representatives to condemn NBC and put pressure on GE. You can find your representative’s email quickly at:

They are limiting their freedom of speech, as long as it is not profane, what empowers them to do this?
