Plenty of motive — the shooter had been kicked out of the missionary program several years ago and had sent hate mail to the organization back then as well...
As for the smoke bombs — this information was released by the police last night. They were not bombs, just smoke producing devices of some sort. Many kids nowadays are dabbling in the art of creating pipe bombs, etc... Now you are assuming this kid had access to military/police hardware???
You should read through the rest of the thread, and/or read some of the more recent news articles before making assumptions of this sort.
He just sent the letters to YWAM within the past few weeks, I believe. It was recent.
Also, somewhere I did read that the Arvada cops had already gone to Murray’s parents’ house around noon yesterday with the search warrant, so that was even before he started the New Life rampage.
What I’m not sure about is whether he hinted at any planning for New Life in what he wrote or said at YWAM - or if LE knew New Life was on the agenda. Just telling New Life to arm up for no reason except possible generalities is one thing - but if New Life was already being targeted, I wonder why.
