Raleigh — North Carolina cannot turn its back on anyone who wants a better education, including illegal immigrants, Gov. Mike Easley said Tuesday.
Easley reiterated his support for a policy shift in the North Carolina Community College System that allows qualified illegal immigrants to attend any of the state's 58 community colleges as an out-of-state student.
About 340 illegal immigrants are enrolled statewide, officials said.
Easley said he understands why many North Carolina residents oppose the idea. But he said anyone who studies the issue would support it.

I like the fact he wants to charge out of state tuition but he should also add that they will be reported ICE (immigration) as soon as they enroll.

His logic is flawed. Illegal is the key word. If students want to further their education in NC, fill out the paperwork and go through the process to become a legal student or a legal immigrant. What is so difficult to understand here?
What absolute Bravo Sierra poandering. If they deserve an education, let them go home and get one. If they want one here, then apply and get entry through the legal means...otherwise, no dice and adios.

Foreign invaders don’t “deserve” anything. Of course, if they conquer us, then they’ll force us to give them whatever they want. But they still won’t deserve it.

We are NOT indestructible. We are NOT infinitely wealthy and strong.
We are NOT immune to having our heritage diluted and shrunk till we’re left without a culture or an identity.
Let illegal aliens get their education in their own countries. The should receive zero services here.

The goofy-ass court system mis-interpreting the Constitution in favor of business cheap-labor interests does not change the common sense that this country is founded on the basis of personal freedom, responsibility, and protection FOR its Citizens , not for foreigners who illegally broke into our "home".
Where do they get that “illegals” deserve anything, except deportation? Let them come into this country legally and then we will talk education at that point.
