THis could spin out of control very quickly.
I realize that I am very much a hawk and pre-emptive strike person -- but if I were in charge at the Pentagon I would have people putting together a plan right now to insert Special forces troops to take security control and protection of the Pakistani Nuclear stores and facilities.

There has been such a plan for years. It was in the press recently that we had a plan which caused a Russian backlash.

If our people at the Pentagon are on the ball, that plan would have long since been completed.

This is odd. I am recalling listening to Dennis Miller last night, who ranted in defense of the War on Terror and pre-emption in particular. Prescient and pertinent remarks, I wonder if there is tape or a transcript.

We already have an ongoing operation for the last several years for securing the nukes in a crisis. Shortly, we will be inserting more Special Ops for the purposes of training Pakistani security forces, i.e., counter-insurgency. Although the situation in Pakistan is not similar at all to the one in Iraq.
