According to data collected two or three years ago by the Dutch government, Harris said 37 percent of all euthanasia operations in the nation were performed on competent, non-consenting adults.

If they're non-consenting, how is that not "murder?" he was asked.

"Because their law says it's not," answered Harris.

"Tolerance has become so great that this is acceptable in the Netherlands," he added.

And this is what the culture of death wants the attitude to be everywhere.

Mike Beard's degree of existential angst must be unbearable if Oregon is, at 10 years later, the only state to allow doctors to intentionally kill their patients.

So why is he still walking around if this has been such a great success?

“The main victims, she said, would be women and minorities.”

Nah, she didn’t....

Correct me if I am wrong but does not suicide, assisted or not constitute a one way ticket to hell according to my bible?

Lately however the secularists have been teaching that assisted suicided is a glamorous way to kick the bucket.

I’m sorry, I really don’t mean to make light here, but…

the couple said they planned to make an appointment with the clinic if Ozzy ever came down with Alzheimer's disease.

How would they be able to tell?

I have no problem at all with the way Oregon does it. Opponents claimed hundreds would start killing themselves and doctors would start pushing it. The most people who have taken the drug in one year? 46. The most who have requested it? Fewer than 70.

That's the way I've always read it.

Lately however the secularists have been teaching that assisted suicided is a glamorous way to kick the bucket.

These are the same secularists who are teaching that ignoring all Biblical mandates is the key to an enjoyable and glamorous life.

So, at what level does the taking of human life become unacceptable to you?

Verse?

You’re wrong :) I am quite sure that is not biblical but merely a Catholic addition.

But feel free to offer up any textual evidence.

And I should have checked before I posted, since I merely parroted the above poster.

But anyways, for the record, I honestly don’t see the trouble with competent adults wanting to commit suicide in a non-painful way. Of course, extreme precaution would have to be taken to insure that only mentally competent, emotionally aware people would make such a decision.

I’m not going to argue with you about this. Neither of us will change the other’s mind. I have my opinion and you have yours. You think your opinion is the same as God’s. I don’t. End of story.

BTW, could you please provide the verses that show suicide is a one-way ticket to hell in all cases?

Of course, when I’m wrestling with issues that involve serious moral and philosophical issues, my first thought is “I wonder where Ozzy Ozbourne stands on this?”

I have never seen it elevated above any other sin. If your bible says suicide sends one directly to hell, then stealing office supplies likely does as well.

On the other hand, for the lost, it precludes any further chance for salvation. In that case it is like any other death - no more opportunity to repent.

Perhaps it is going to far to say that suicide will doom one’s soul; however, it is still a violation of the commandment against killing.
