Whatever the cause, Cruise is an odd duck.

A quick check reveals that
ScienTOMogy.com, a useful link for further reading on this, is still up and running.

Possibly L. Ron Hubbard, through artificial insemination with the dead man’s frozen sperm.

Miscavige even joined him on honeymoon in the Maldives after his wedding to Katie Holmes in 2006. Reaaaalllly....

If you have done any research about Scientology, you would not find this article too surprising. The "church" does seek to control its members. It definitely qualifies as a cult in several ways, not the least of which is the desire to separate its members from any of their family or friends who are skeptical of Scientology.
I did not know anything about Scientology until my Sunday School class did an intense study of cults one summer. I learned even more about it due to the tragic death of Terri Schiavo as many of the key players in her death had a connection to Scientology. The area of Florida in which she died is a Scientology stronghold. I saved this link from the time of Terri's death: Share this page. Check it out. It will horrify you.
I have no idea if the content of the book is true or not, and, of course, the Rosemary's Baby analogy is a little far-fetched. One thing I have always wondered about though is why Nicole and Tom could not have children of their own and had to adopt. Supposedly, Katie Holmes's pregnancy proved that it was not Tom who was responsible, but Nicole, who is over 40, has recently become pregnant. Evidently, she was not the one who was infertile (if either of them actually were).
Whatever the reason, it is hard to deny that Tom's behavior has been more and more bizarre in the last few years - from jumping on Oprah's couch to speaking out against Brooke Shields for using medication and counseling to treat what was obviously a severe case of post partum depression. I used to really like Tom Cruise, but his criticism of Brooke for being wise enough to seek help for a very real and dangerous condition was the last straw for me. I would not pay $0.06 to see a Tom Cruise movie, much less $6.00. (I get a "Senior Citizen" discount at the movies since I am over 55. lol)

If Mitt Romney is tired of hearing that the Mormon (JCLS) Church is a cult he should take a look at what some of the Hollywood nitwits believe. He’ll feel much better!

Andrew Morton's unauthorised biography claims Scientology has taken over the 45-year-old actor's life, with its officials selecting many of the staff at his Hollywood mansion. Cults tend to do just that - take over every aspect your life; both personal and professional.
