TALK OF HILLARY EXIT ENGULFS CAMPAIGNS Mon Jan 07 2008 09:46:28 ET

Facing a double-digit defeat in New Hampshire, a sudden collapse in national polls and an expected fund-raising drought, Senator Hillary Clinton is preparing for a tough decision: Does she get out of the race? And when?!

"She can't take multiple double-digit losses in New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada," laments one top campaign insider. "If she gets too badly embarrassed, it will really harm her. She doesn't want the Clinton brand to be damaged with back-to-back-to-back defeats."

Meanwhile, Democrat hopeful John Edwards has confided to senior staff that he is staying in the race because Hillary "could soon be out."

Key players in Clinton's inner circle are said to be split. James Carville is urging her to fight it out through at least February and Super Tuesday, where she has a shot at thwarting Barack Obama in a big state. But others close to the former first lady now see no possible road to victory, sources claim.

So who do we want to run against, Barak HUSSEIN Obama, or the Breck Girl?

Dem approach to life = Cut and Run when the going gets tough...

But skeptical me wonders outloud if Hildabeast's candidacy was real in the first place... (Wondering the same thing about Edwards...) Polls and focus groups should have told the DNC, Hillary, Edwards if they were electable before they ran.

Therefore...

Was it a ruse by the DNC and MSM to promote Obama to the point he might gain momentum with the Independents and sweep the country in the general election.

I think alot of you underestimate Obamas chances over any republican nominee and over overestimate Hillarys. We had better hope Hill stays in and pulls off a win if we are to see a republican victory in november

Obama has a lot of "young guy / non establishment" mojo working for him.

Of all the candidates, he seems the most likely to actually be able to get the young "first time voters" to turn out in big numbers. That scares me.

Personally, I'd rather see Hillary get the nomination. She inspires such hatred that no matter who the Republicans put up, that person will get 40-45% of the vote just in votes AGAINST Hillary!

She has pursued a strict policiy of extreme concealment about her views, instead crafting a carefully “triangulated” public image which in no way reflects her intent. There is a reason for this.

Yes, there is. The reason is that under pressure of live interviews and debates, she is not as smooth as Bill is and therefore not able to pull off the triangulation that he was able to.

Simply put, being the wife of the politician does not make you a politician. If it was, Nancy Reagan or some other first lady who was held in high regard would have already run for President.

That could be good news - if Hillary wins the nomination by virtue of the superdelegates - but loses the popular vote in her own party - we’ll have a cakewalk in the general!

I will say that the super delegates are not "locked up" because I don't know of any legally binding and enforceable contract that says they must vote for Hillary. Certainliy they can bail on her.

Fear of Fort Marcy Park is about all that is currently keeping them in line.

Don’t forget the Super Delegates. No way she drops out before Feb 5. And who knows, with the dossiers she has on hand, it could be Obama AND Edwards who drop out. No way she just slinks away. And that “Clinton Brand” stuff, utter nonsense.

You’re right, he’s no man. I really think Bill is getting some sort of sick satisfaction out of watching her fall. Although, I’ll have to admit I enjoy it as well. Of course, I’m not her husband or even a man for that matter. I enjoy it because she’s a socialist who feels entitled to it, period. It has nothing to do with her being female.

I spray painted that on the front of my snowplow. (Horrified my liberal neighbors.)

I’m not convinced there’s any truth to this. Although I’m sure fellow Freepers on this thread too are not convinced.

But the notion had been floating around in my head. For as we all knew, Hillary is unlikeable. And while she has the power to make the Lamestream Media follow her command and the money from the Chicoms to use endlessly and whatever was in those FBI files to bribe the congress critters, none of us folks busy carrying this country on our backs while raising the citizens and soldiers of tomorrow liked the woman.

Hillary has no control over US!

Anyway, talk about your law of unexpected consequences. I mean it’s possible that Barack Obama could morph into this soft and sweet talking black man with a nice smile, a gift of gab and a sincere-sounding agenda. The ladies at the beauty parlor might really by into a more artfully carved and presented Obama and hey, it’s within the realm of imagination that the man could be our next president.

All this grief because the Democrats mindlessly followed those awful Clintons when they should have found and groomed someone else. They all know what a witch Hillary is.

Translation.. "Dammit, I told you if we didn't keep her shielded from the press and the public like we did in New York that they would finally discover what a fraudulent, corrupt, miserable bitch she really is and now the gig is up"..

If she looses the race for President, just watch how she will no longer feel constraained to hide the real Hitlery! She will become New York’s socialist Senator without embarassment. And she will thereby gain in popularity IMHO.
