TALK OF HILLARY EXIT ENGULFS CAMPAIGNS Mon Jan 07 2008 09:46:28 ET

Facing a double-digit defeat in New Hampshire, a sudden collapse in national polls and an expected fund-raising drought, Senator Hillary Clinton is preparing for a tough decision: Does she get out of the race? And when?!

"She can't take multiple double-digit losses in New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada," laments one top campaign insider. "If she gets too badly embarrassed, it will really harm her. She doesn't want the Clinton brand to be damaged with back-to-back-to-back defeats."

Meanwhile, Democrat hopeful John Edwards has confided to senior staff that he is staying in the race because Hillary "could soon be out."

Key players in Clinton's inner circle are said to be split. James Carville is urging her to fight it out through at least February and Super Tuesday, where she has a shot at thwarting Barack Obama in a big state. But others close to the former first lady now see no possible road to victory, sources claim.

I would not want to be a Clinton staffer these days. Hillary is going to be slinging a lot of blame around, and it isn’t going to be pretty.

I do believe that Obama is less dangerous than Hillary. Obama just is not the kind of criminal element that Hillary and her supporters are. Not that Obama’s naiveté isn’t dangerous, I just don’t view it in terms of “an ongoing criminal conspiracy” as the Clintons are.

I don’t enjoy watching it. She should have never been put through all of this in the first place.

Hillery is in until after Super Tuesday.

And then we will see. You are dreaming if you think she will drop out to "preserve" the "Clinton brand." If she was concerned about that, she would have divorced Slick years ago.

I say it’s ‘rope-a-dope’ - get the word out there - gin up her base to get energized and make sure to vote. She will not get out before Super Tuesday. She already has massive organizations in place in the big states.

This #1 gets her in the news, and #2 lets her play the ‘underdog’ card.

I really believe that all of our dreams of a very dead Hillary, striped stockings curling up from underneath a collapsed house, will become reality,.

IE...if Hillary pulls out the Clintons will go away.\

It’s the ONLY way the Lamestream was ever gonna stop giving those two the incredible amount of power they’ve had over the last eight years. All the media power led to some undistinguished Justice and CIA bureaucrats holding on tenaciously as they awaited the return of the queen. Us peons, well we only get to express our opinion every four years or so but it’s one mighty powerful opinion.

If a scenario of Hillary dropping out of the presidential race ever happens, the Lamestream no longer has to worry about pleasing them. They’ll no longer have Bill threatening to withhold an interview should the media vehicle talk bad about Hill. Heh. Because none us schlub buckets out here in la-la land carrying this country on our backs while raising the citizens and soldiers of tomorrow will ever bother to read whatever they were interviewing Bill about and further, Hill won’t be running for nothing.

But I wishful think. I’d invite you all to read my Blog sidebar...I’ve got a long wishful think about the end of Hillary.

You don’t have to read it. I still enjoyed writing it.

Because, folks, ladies and gems, yon readers....haven’t we given the Clintons enough of our time?

Oh, man -- if she manages to lose most of the primaries but win the nomination anyway because of some arcane convention rules, pass the popcorn....

Kind of brings to mind Chicago, and 1968 - all over again!

I don’t think there is a single person, other than Obama, at this time in history that could have knocked Hillary out of competition for the Dim nomination. Ain’t it weird how life works.

This is all part of her carefully scripted plan of being the “Comeback Kid.”

No way she gets out. Not even close. It’s a sucker’s bet.

I tend to agree. She’s in a position that a few threats and busted kneecaps by the Clintonistas won’t fix.

This is not a happy day. Thompson, McCain, or Rudy, could crush Hillary in a general election. Obama will not be easy to beat.

Not a good day at all.

I believe that Hillary’s money started to dry up right after the stumble in the debate a few weeks ago.. There are rumors else where that money is tight in her campaign. Of course if you do business with candidates it is all CASH on the barrel or you are an idiot.

I have always told my friends the Obama is like “Chance the Gardener” in the Peter Sellers’ 1979 movie “Being There.” Obama, the empty head, is going to walk right into the Whitehouse.

What is that saying about HELL and a woman scorned?

"Hell hath no fury like the wrath of a woman scorned."
