I didn’t believe her, but I don’t believe in Run Paul with the faith-based ways that you do.

You believe him I presume, but I'm sure you agree that makes Paul a world class incompetant.

Reagan slept through cabinet meetings and had no idea the whole Iran-Contra thing was going on. I think we need a return to such world class incompetence.

Yes, I remember the attacks on Reagan as incompetent, that a paulite would make them doesn't surprise me.

Examples please of the overt racism espoused by Paul from Ronald Reagan

Lacking that, examples of the use of Ronald Reagan's name over decades, for financial gain, to espouse hatred over more than a decade. Without his knowledge of course, he was sleeping.

Your boy is either a liar, an incompetent, or a racist, likely several of those. Embrace it, others amongst his support will.

I’ve read several of the newsletters. Not sure any of them are “daming” or “devestating.” However, RP needs to address who wrote what articles. One can tell that the articles on race issues have a different author than the ones on, say, government waste.

That said, I think it’s the rhetoric of the newsletters that is cuasing offense in conservative circles, rather than what’s said. Here on FR and elsewhere, the same criticisms have been made vis-a-vis paternal government welfare policies and their crippling effect on black culture. The “95%” stat I’ve seen cited I haven’t been able to find in a newsletter. However, what exactly was said and what number is closer to the truth?

As for the MLK articles, again, I think the rhetoric or glee with with the incriminations are presented is what sets folks off. Also, one fears whether MLK’s allegations were part of a government smear campaign and why a civil libertarian would applaud such data-warehousing on folks who threaten to upset the government apple-cart.

A lot of the other stuff is just vintage conservative/sall gov/leave folks alone ideas, sometimes (not always) expressed badly.

The difference in tone between these articles and RP’s congressional speeches is striking. Which is the real “voice” of RP? Do any candidates write their own material any more? What is anyone’s “real” voice if no one writes their own stuff? One answer is to be careful of who you let write your stuff under your name.

Folks should read as many of the newsletters as they can, at least the ones linked at TNR, not just the snippets.

Okay, I stated looking back at some of the stuff people have been “pinging” me with. I don’t know whether to laugh or cry. Some of it - on both sides of the Ron Paul question - are so far out they have to have been posted from Uranus.

‘Ron Paul’s anti Semetic.’ ‘Ron Paul’s a Jews’ best hope for American President.’ ‘Ron Paul’s a Skin-head.’ ‘Ron Paul’s a nice old man with loving grandchildren.’

Scary... and not so much what’s being said but the fact that some of the people pushing this tripe actually believe it!

You guys can stop pinging me with this ... this... stuff! I decided a long time ago who I was going to vote for and I will continue to vote for him as long as he’s on the ballot. With one exception: He has said he will not run on a third-party ticket. I intend to hold him to his word and - if he does jump ship - I will not vote for him.

Now then, suit zipped up, mask on, goggles in place and gloves firmly velcroed in place. Flame away!!!
