My fear is that if one of the RINOs actually gets elected, the party will move irretrievably leftward.

If this happens (and I believe it is), it is because the BASE is drifting leftward. The problem is with US--not THEM.

Being a die-hard conservative and a firm Fred voter, I am extremely disappointed in the results of the Iowa primary. It tells me so-called "evangelicals" as as incapable of analyzing candidates in depth as any Democrat. The were bamboozled with Huck because "he stood up for his faith". Nevermind he disagreed with them on almost all other issues.

As a matter of fact, it taught me that issues don't really matter with Republicans any more than with Democrats.

well I think a lot of people were worried that Rudy would win and that Fred is a virtual no show and he is not the savvy “Law and order” candidate that would blow everyone away. It’s hard to really trust Romney or McCain. So Huck wins by process of elimination and his ability to articulate at least some principles.
