CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. - A 20-year-old pregnant Marine who was expected to testify about something she witnessed on base has been missing since mid-December, authorities said.
The Marine Corps said Wednesday it is cooperating fully with the Onslow County Sheriff's Office in the disappearance of Lance Cpl. Maria Lauterbach, who is about eight months pregnant.
The sheriff's office has said Lauterbach's mother reported that her daughter was supposed to testify about an on-base incident.
"There are several findings and pieces of evidence that have been discovered that cause law enforcement to be concerned with the circumstances surrounding Maria's disappearance," the sheriff's department said in a statement.
Sheriff's investigators did not return calls seeking additional comment Wednesday, and it was not clear what Lauterbach was expected to say in testimony.

Also...tell your sister thank you for her service to America!!! ;-)
Don't stop him...he's on a roll.
Even Marines need pencil pushers.
Her mom said she was raped by a superior officer. Paging Jack Reacher...
Did we......when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?
There was a law that said women cannot be sent to combat. When when was that changed? I read about the women killed in action and I figured only those women volunteered.
No law that I know of.
Women are flying combat missions from carriers and are in combat in Iraq at this moment.
There were restrictions on certain billets in certain combat arms (infantry, armor, etc.), but women can and do serve in combat units and in combat.
Not running down preggers Mari9nes..but here’s a question..She’s not married...enlisted in June 2007..so if she gets pregnant during her initial hitch, why not just separate her from the service?
Hey, there were Royal Marines at Gold!

Besides, who cares about the last time, who’s going to do it next time?
My friend who is also in the National Guard said his unit had a bunch of women Army sluts. They slept with everyone and anyone.
“did we quit when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?”-(just one of the classics from Animal house)

This case is getting weird. The local sheriff is asking the missing Marine to “come forward and get help”...not exactly what you do if you suspect that she’s the victim of foul play.
BTW, they think her baby was due two days ago.

Guess I should be glad I joined the AIR National Guard 27 years ago. I have served with a great number of dedicated and professional women, many of whom have deployed all over the world. I’ve had two children and always been back to service and deployable within the required 6 weeks.
Thought I’d try to put some positive words out there to counteract all the.... less than positive words.
Is the fellow marine that supposedly raped her the one that made her pregnant?
BTW, why does she have a MALE roomate?
“The woman made the allegation to her stepmother, who also told investigators looking for the 20-year-old lance corporal that her stepdaughter was bipolar and had a history of compulsive lying, the documents filed this week state.”
“Military officials said Thursday they had ordered the missing Marine’s roommate, Sgt. Daniel Durham, to return from training in California to answer questions about the case.”

Supposedly a fellow marine raped her.
Supposedly a fellow marine raped her and she was going to testify about it.
