I agree conservatives, including uninformed conservatives still are a majority, but I am beginning to think the uninformed ones are more numerous. I had an Air Force officer recently tell me that he just voted absentee for McCain. When I said I was surprised, given the fact that McCain authored the Amnesty Bill and the person I was talking to was adamently opposed to illegal immigration or amnesty. His reply, “I didn’t know McCain was for Amnesty, I thought he said he wasn’t.”
Don’t give up hope! There are miracles in this country every day. I believe God will bless America with a Fred Thompson presidency. :-) Keep the faith!
(I believe in miracles because I’ve experienced them myself—I was told I couldn’t have any more children, and I’m due with twins in July! :*)
The way Thompson is campaigning and seeming to be low-key, is the same way Reagan campaigned.
I wouldnt count Fred out....
Reagan was a relentless campaigner, and was never this low at this point in any GOP primary for President that I can recall.
I like Fred Thompson, but even Reagan couldn’t overcome the lead Thompson has given the opposition, this late.
Just my opinion, and I’d love to be wrong about it.
But I don’t think I am.
I know what you mean about the uninformed. I was still in the Marine Corps in 92 when Clinton ran. I had a discussion with a fellow jarhead concerning him. This jarhead was voting for Clinton (disgusted with Bush’s tax raises) and I started discussing some issues where he would differ from Clinton. When discussing things like gun control and abortion, he just flatly denied what I was telling him about Clinton supporting these things. What do you do at that point?
“I was told I couldnt have any more children, and Im due with twins in July!”
Congratulations. Are there baby books to explain the constitution and what our founding fathers believed in when establishing the country that we can buy them? : )
My 13 year old 8th grade son is very interested in the election. He also pointed out to my hubby and I that my will be voting in the next presidential election (he’ll turn 18 in September of 2012).
We have tried to keep a lot of politics from our children as they have grown up, but since my son is in middle school we’ve been talking to him more about politics
Yesterday, he was asking more questions about all of the candidates. I had him go to a website that asks questions about different issues and matches you with a candidate. I decided my son needed to learn about the issues.
My son went through all the questions (he asked lots of questions), and then the moment of truth came. It matched him up with Fred Thompson. I was so proud. I’ve raised a conservative.
My son said he was scared that he would be matched up with Obama or Hillary.
Please people if you want to get your message out to South Carolinians, listing every article about every candidate under the topic of South Carolina isn't the way to do it. The SC topic is overflowing and it is making it hard for those truly interested in the topic to sort through.
You best way to influence the SC vote is not to try and change the minds of the few South Carolinians here at FR, but instead perhaps you efforts would be more productive in manning the phone banks.
You can find more information about it here: Phone South Carolina for FRed!! (Live Thread)
The Bible is my favorite, LOL.
What makes you believe he's running a lazy campaign?
We ought to put our boys in touch.
My son is a 13 year old, 8th grade conservative, too.
I tell him it’s only logical. I had Rush on six hours a day when I was pregnant with him. :)
Oh, please...
Yea but he better get started tonight.
Why the dig?
I love your attitude. Thanks for the boost.
Lord, bless this nation with a true conservative leader that will uphold your laws. Amen!
I think it came off meaner than I meant it to...it was meant in good fun.
“Why was South Carolina added to the topics for this article. There is nothing in the article about South Carolina.”
Except for the fact that the link goes back to a South Carolina college newspaper.
Picky over nothing.
Those running energetic campaigns are no good for us!
Whats wrong with Fred Thompson’s ‘no nonsese’ campaign?
It’s actually a newspaper based in Santa Clara, California.
Not every story published by a SC newspaper is about SC.
Take another look at your tagline.
