To: Jim Robinson

The next president will make appointments to the SCOTUS. I hope President Fred Thompson is making those appointments when the time comes.

If we are left with a lesser man for our nominee, it’s difficult to believe the worst of ours would make choices as bad for the country as the Dem winner.

I’ll have to take a chance on that being the case, and support the Republican nominee, when I know for certain what type of appointments would be made by any of the Dems.

I don't see any difference. Just look at what Schwarzenegger has done for California and perhaps other states following California's example, with S.B. 777.

That is about the only reason I could consider McCain or Romney.

I think McCain's appointments would be in the range of Bush. And I think that if the right supported Romney, he would at least give us his first appointment. (But maybe I'm wrong) Any case, they would be better than Hillary. Giuliani has already told us that Bader-Ginsburg is a good standard to pick justices. So if we get Hillary-like appointments from him, why even consider him?
