Everyone sees Fred according to their own pre-conceptions. I like his style, his drawling and his no nonsense answers, but others just don’t seem to ‘get’ him... he gets on their nerves, or something.
Fred speaks just like my dad’s entire side of the family. Not everyone “gets” southerners when they talk.
I think there are still regional differences on that stuff.
