Thompson would get the NRA before Huckabee.
Why do you say that Huckster is stronger?
FRED already got the Right to Life endorsement!
FRED Thompson will appoint conservative judges to the Supreme Court in the mold of
John Roberts
Antonin Scalia
Joseph Alito
Clarence Thomas.
We need Thompson as PRESIDENT!

Now that I can believe as possible. I could see that happening, but not the NRA...it would cost them dearly.
If Dr. Dobson and some other prominent evangelicals “blessed” him, it could pull much of Mike’s support away.
Disagree that NRA wouldn’t endorse him though. People won’t stop giving money to the NRA because they endorse Thompson.
Thompson has strong favoribility ratings by EVERYBODY according to the polls and a very strong 2nd ammendment guy. No Huck, McCain, Romney supporters dislike Fred. They aren’t going to turn in their guns because the NRA went with a different candidate.

The way he fought off gun control after the Arkansas shootings as a start. Huckabe also actually has a concealed carry permit, etc.
It is all moot though. The NRA, at best, would publish a voter’s guide giving grades based on records. Both men would get A+ ratings.

Tjat is also plausible. I’m not sure that would be considered a “major” endorsement though. Newt’s negatives are high.
You seem to be very alone in this rather sour assessment. I think he went in exactly the direction he needed to on the night. Fred will be covery South Carolina from the mountains to the sea over the days between now and the Primary, and he will be asking South Carolinians for their support - and what's more, he's going to get it in spades. Especially after last night. Right now, I'll say for the record, barring a monumental gaffe, Fred Thompson will take South Carolina.
Just watch.

Realistically, I think Fred will take 2nd place at most. He has too much ground to cover in 8 days. But being optimistic is good! :-)

A church is prevented by law from endorsing candidates so far as their 501(c)3 status is concerned, IF they have filed tax exemption paperwork, OR if they have filed articles of incorporation (apparently, this automatically brings them under 501.)
Indianapolis Baptist Temple was successfully prosecuted for tax reasons regarding employees.
Huckabee is a member of the SBC. My guess is that the SBC has supported both incorporation and filing under 501.
Therefore, my comment that “churches” are prevented by law from endorsing. (They’ll lose that tax exemption.)
