Louisiana gave a woman a chance. Governor Blanco, remember? Along came one crisis, and she broke down to the point where thousands were in danger because of her dithering and inaction. So... do people really want more of *that*? I think not.

Blanco was first and more most a LIBERAL. Condi rice or Maggie Thatcher would have kept it together because of the caliber of human being they are....first and foremost. Nothing to do with whether they are chicks or not.

Yes, but what Erica Jong means by “let’s give women a chance” is “let’s give Dem/liberal women a chance”. To them, conservative women aren’t “women” but “slaves of men”.
