...let's sacrifice our principles so we can jump on the bandwagon for who we think can win!!!

Right or wrong, it is a combination of both -- principals AND electability.

Mainstream conservative Republican voters will gather their support around the MOST conservative candidate who ALSO can win.

I and others would LOVE to support Duncan Hunter if we thought he could defeat the sHrillary Obracko Bombo machine in November '08.

If he cant, what is the point??

So we can "stand on principals" with NO POWER while watching the Democrats raise taxes and legalize homo marriage and run the country into the multi-cultural abyss?

Pragmatically speaking, mainstream Republicans would rather get 60% of what this country needs with a Romney Presidency than 0% with a Obracko sHrillary presidency.

Of course the 60% is not guaranteed.

But we would DEFINITELY get 0% if sHrillary Obracko were to be elected.

This is the same tired old refrain that has been said from those who for some inexplicable reason have fallen for the socialist media driven biased reporting and polls. It is a false assumption that has existed practically before there were any debates. The reality is the socialist media and shun Duncan Hunter from the spotlight because they are terrified of a hardcore unshakable Conservative becoming President.

The socialist media doesn't mind giving attention to the other GOP candidates because the realize they have held positions contrary to Conservatism at some point in their careers and even in a worst case scenario will still be able advance socialism as they have done with George Bush in the White house. The socialist media realizes they wouldn't stand a chance with Duncan Hunter and many Republicans are falling for the trap.

Ah, you said the word pragmatic. Exactly. That’s what we have been doing wrong.

In the pragmatic world people feel they must back people that can win an election.

While American politics has always been built on the art of compromise; I feel that losing sight of our values and goals for the sake of compromise has led the American aim to be off the mark.
That is my only point. Duncan Hunter most closely mirrors my idea of what’s important for American values even though he is considered to not have a chance to win by some.

Also, we have backed candidates who can win over the years for so long that’s pretty much what all we do now. We have lost our foundation and issues.

For example: Immigration. This should have never happened.
