Sundquist was a RINO:

Chip Saltsman first got politically active working on the failed 1992 reelection campaign of the first President Bush. He then went to work for then-Congressman Don Sundquist and helped run Sundquist’s 1994 gubernatorial campaign before becoming that governor’s administrative assistant.

Saltsman was vice president for strategic planning at Cleveland, Tennessee-based McKenzie Check Advance Co. when he became chair of the Tennessee Republican Party in 1998. McKenzie’s owners contributed $25,000 to a PAC of Democratic House Speaker Jimmy Naifeh the day before the state legislature convened in 2001. The contribution triggered a scandal after the legislature proceeded to pass legislation to allow “payday lenders” to add additional fees to the 400 percent interest rates that they already were allowed to charge the working poor for small loans. Although the McKenzie family had just sold its payday lending operation, Brenda McKenzie was still lobbying for that industry.

(yes, there were some good things here in TN with him at the top of the party organization, but I believe they were in spite of him. Things like keeping Gore from the Oval Office happened really without his help.)

THIS IS WHAT HUCKABEE SAID!

Mike Huckabee: It would please me because I think Roe v. Wade is based on a real stretch of Constitutional application — that somehow there is a greater privacy issue in the abortion concern — than there is a human life issue — and that the federal government should be making that decision as opposed to states making that decision.

So, I’ve never felt that it was a legitimate manner in which to address this and, first of all, it should be left to the states, the 10th Amendment, but secondly, to somehow believe that the taking of an innocent, unborn human life is about privacy and not about that unborn life is ludicrous.

Stop pushing the lies of Ed Rollins and the Huckabee campaign.
They’re already doing enough dirty push-polling, and you’re hands are dirty now too.

Wonder if Rush will mention the article by his brother in endorsement of Fred? Hope a FredHead caller gets on air to ask Rush about it. But guess if one says they are a Fred Thompson supporter, they won’t get on. Rush does not want any callers pushing a candidate, he said. GO FRED!

Nice! Now, take that article and make it corrolate to your claim that Thompson wants the states to make abortion legal. Come on, give it the ol' college try.

Sure.
But someone still needs to call and say it on the air too.
I can’t from here.

“A part of what I believe all of my political life since the first day that I ran in Tennessee was that, in some areas, states were free under our constitution to do some things that even Fred Thompson disagrees with,” Thompson said after leaving a downtown fund-raiser at Waller Lansden Dortch & Davis. “So every solution is not in Washington D.C. That’s part of my belief.”

I see nothing in the article about wanting states to approve abortion. His is the Federalist, Conservative position. The one that Huckabee recently used to endorse, though his actions as president of the SBC and as governor belie his words.

Bizarre that pro-life groups would support Thompson, who has publicly stated he wants the issue to go to the states and the states to make abortion legal.

That's a damnable lie and you are a liar. Fred has said that he'd like to see Roe v Wade overturned and then the issue can be settled at the state level where it rightly belongs. He NEVER said he wanted the states to make abortion legal. Saying so is a contemptable lie.

I have gathered evidence that the former governor of Arkansas, Mike Huckabee, ate Rocky, our ONLY celebrity. How will I be able to tell Bullwinkle?... Of course he has to watch out for that Governor Palin of Alaska. I hear she likes mooseburgers...
