No conservatives allowed in the GOP big tent.

I heard the same thing. They are also figuring he will back McCain. Supposedly so will Huck and Rooty.

Hope its just more bad rumor, you never know with FOX these days.

I don’t see Huckabee as a serious factor. It’s between McCain and Romney now.

Who will he endorse?

Who WILL he endorse?

Is he also positioning himself for a VP selection?

With Hunter gone, I might have talked myself into voting for Fred.

If he’s out, then I’m out.

Note their platforms, cripplecreek. They all run as conservatives, even though those supported by the media (and thus getting the largest # of votes) aren’t actually so conservative by record.

That’s the real shame, but I suppose it’s the natural effect of things having been pretty good for so long: most voters don’t feel compelled to look more deeply.

Laura Ingraham supports Romney

Yep she has for a while now. FOX is certainly no friend of Fred AT ALL. FOX has been pushing Rooty McRomBee for months.

Laura ... got it from Fox... who got it from Campaign Carl.

And Carl's blog does NOT say that Fred is dropping out, so there is really NOTHING in terms of actual news here -- just speculation.

We all know that Laura is supporting another candidate, so I wouldn't read much into this. Fred will tell us when he's ready.

Sounds like the old game PASSWORD to me...Carl does NOT say he’s dropping

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/index.html

by Carl Cameron
As we have previously reported Fred Thomspon is in Tennessee visiting his 90 plus year old mother who is recovering from an illness

There will be no decisions today as Thompson mulls whether to carry on his bid for the presidency but he is expected to say something definitive tomorrow, probably first thing in the morning.

While no one in the campaign will be surprised if he withdraws they have no idea which way he will go and they do have some money if he should decide to continue.

Aides acknowledge the obvious: SC was very disappointing and 3rd place was not a momentum builder in their view.

On 8 Jan the campaign staff a took pay cut and Thompson knows he owes his staffers some certainty so they can plan for their future, especially younger staffers who need a paycheck.

Fredheads nationwide are waiting too…..

IMO, When Fred goes, the GOP candidate menu will be reduced to the culinary equivalents of lutefisk, liver mush and haggis.

Hunter was always my first choice. Fred was always my second. Romney was a (very distant) third.

I suspect that the GOP establishment will now focus on boosting McCain and getting Romney out of the race, if possible.

Hillary will win in November.
