The police officer was behind her in the line at the WINDOW - it is difficult to get around a car if there are other cars in the line behind you. This Police Officer was well within his rights - many of us wish we could do the same thing when some jerk refuses the simple courtesy of pulling ahead just enough to let the person behind them out while they wait for their “Special Order” that ends up taking about 20 minutes. I say good for the officer.

What were his rights? What was the law being violated?

There may have been a law violated, but the information provided in this story doesn't show one. Did the store call police and ask her to be arrested for trespassing?

Yes, the next time I am in a big hurry at the supermarket and don’t feel like waiting for the little old lady in front of me to count out her change one penny at a time, I should call the police and have her arrested.

Riiiiiiiight....
