My wife is still an inmate there.

You have to ask yourself this question, how many fat people do you see who are 70 years old or more?

Not all fat people die young, though- some lose weight as they age without any special effort. My mother was overweight all her life then shed at least 50 pounds while she was in her 70s.

It shouldn’t be any different if the free market were involved. Let the horrible capitalists who are looking to make a buck decide who should pay more or less for life, medical, long term care or any other type of insurance.

When Gubmint is involved, bad things happen.

According to the NIH, that would make you overweight.

“You have to ask yourself this question, how many fat people do you see who are 70 years old or more?”

Not SO many, but I wonder -

is it because most of the fat people die before 70? OR

is it because people start to lose their appetite in the 60s and start to dwindle?

My MIL was very heavy, 300 plus, for a couple of decades. She did WW, Jenny Craig, Nutrisystem. . .not much success. However, about five years ago, she start to eat less. She just wasn’t very hungry. She sees a doctor regularly - doesn’t have cancer or whatever. She is just not as hungry any more, and has lost over 100 pounds. And boy is she sedentary!

I hit the big 4-0 in a few months. Probably not old enough to be your son...how about a little brother :-)

I have a wife who is grating and annoying too. But she deserves a purple heart for putting up with me.

“They may not like it, but I don’t know how our health care system can afford (fat) American’s ‘lifestyle choices’ moving forward. . .”

We are already subsidizing a whole heck of a lot of bad lifestyle choices. Why single out people who overeat?

For instance, people who are underweight are statistically more likely to die young than those who are obese. So we’d best start upcharging the skinny.

DARE TO BE FAT - Root Boy Slim

by David Greenlee, Foster McKenzie III, and Ernie Lancaster

Dare to be fat!
Fat is where it’s at!
Dare to be fat!
Fat is where it’s at!
Having a ball
With cholesterol
C’mon y’all -
Fat don’t matter at all!

I saw a fat girl in my neighborhood
Good God almighty, she was lookin’ good
Tight ski pants, cashmire sweater
Root Boy can’t think of nuthin’, nuthin’ better.

Dare to be fat!
Fat is where it’s at!
Dare to be fat!
Fat is where it’s at!
Having a ball
With cholesterol
C’mon y’all -
Fat don’t matter at all!

She’s got a shape that makes me drool
Lord, I’m just a fat girl’s fool
She weighs in at two-oh-two
That’s fine with me, I’m portly, too

Dare to be fat!
Fat is where it’s at!
Dare to be fat!
Fat is where it’s at!
Having a ball
With cholesterol
C’mon y’all -
Fat don’t matter at all!

[spoken]
Man, those fat girls got me eating out of their hands
They got me playin’ the fool
They got me doin’ anything they want me to
They got me wrapped out around their pudgy fingers
I don’t know how to get out of this syndrome I’m in

Me and my woman got it made
Eatin’ in, eatin’ out, at least six times a day
Breakfast and brunch, lunch and dinner, too
Plus a few meals that might be new to you

[spoken]
C’mon, c’mon, you fat girls
Give Root Boy some play
Fellow might not be noticin’ you, but
I dig you, I dig you
I’m a fat man, too
I dig you fat girls
You’re foxy, you’re foxy
You got [put on a pedestal?]
Highly elevated
Back in Medieval times
You’re Rubenesque, baby

There's no money in that racket. Who are you going to sue? Cosmopolitan magazine for putting skinny women on the cover? If you are a grant junkie or activist go where the money is. The tobacco companies are finished. The vultures have already licked the last bit of meat off the carcass. You need a fresh kill.

Fat women have been very respectful of smokers in bars like me, so I would never post anything like this picture. This is from the Mike Huckabee school of PR. But if I did post an insulting picture, this is what I would post. Not saying that I would post it, but if I did, this is what I would post.

For innumerable generations, ancient man was afflicted with parasites. So long, in fact, that throughout the human genome, there are any number of adaptations to them.

In fact, many of us are so genetically predisposed to having parasites, our immune systems have a hard time adapting to life without them. That is, the *absence* of parasites may result in our own immune systems harming us, with responses to parasites that are not needed.

And number of autoimmune related conditions, from arthritis to asthma, to obesity, may be primarily because we no longer have parasites. So people with dire medical conditions related to this have gone to far as to consume sanitized pig whipworms, that can only live in the human body for a short time; or hookworms, for life threatening asthma. Having worms is better than dying.

But while parasites might help us, they are not the root cause of our problems. Our own bodies are misbehaving.

That is why we should look forward to the creation of “The Republican Pill”, which will allow us to eat what we want, yet stay trim and with toned muscles.

I call it the Republican Pill, because not only would Republicans get great enjoyment out of being able to eat what they wanted to eat, from Big Macs to Gourmand cuisine; but also because Democrats would hate it.

Democrats already curse Americans for being gluttons, eating unhealthy, if good tasting food, enjoying meat instead of tofu and bean sprouts, and generally liking their food. A Republican Pill would drive them mad with rage and frustration.

Well, it’s a great problem to have. Americans are so rich that even the poor eat too much food. So we need to invent something to worry about so Gubmint will have something to do and justify their existence.

And the problem with capitalism is what again????

Let us not forget that the Fed changed the definition of "overweight" several years ago. Kate Moss on a crack binge could now be labeled "mildly obese".
Let's call it "Fat by Fiat".

Btw, not to hijack the thread, but they do the same thing with the "poverty" level. The income bar keeps going up. Now what's that about a shrinking middle class again?

Good point. If you torture the data enough, it will tell you whatever you want to hear.

Slow down and read the rest of the post....the surgeon said their “eating problem” was that they were too undisciplined to put their forks down.

Sheeesh.
