“Barack Obama will have the same effect on the black vote that Ross Perot had on Reagan Democrats — unmooring them from their party.”

A very good analogy and I think it is apt.

["Barack Obama routed Hillary Rodham Clinton in the racially-charged South Carolina primary Saturday night"]

This is exactly what the Clintons want, as Rush, Morris, and others have said. The Clintons WANT this to be about race, so that white Democrats turn against Obama on 5-Feb and afterward. Once Hillary is nominated, they know that blacks will return to the mother ship, as per usual. How perverse and cynically disgusting. One day, I hope that blacks will realize that the Republican Party best represents their healthy interests.

FLorida Gov Charlie Crist has endorsed McCain.

You had to know that was coming given Crist's Global Warming BS. I am soooo sorry I voted for him. Can we get Jeb back?

Fox just showed a bunch of black people in a diner cheering when it was announced on TV that Obama was winning. It was like they were cheering their favorite football team. I’ve never seen that kind of reaction about a political candidate before.

CNN has moved on — to McCain beating up on Romney about the Iraq timetable.

CNN shows Obama at 59%.

[Weeping, wailing, gnashing of teeth and flying ashtrays reported at Team Clinton HDQ.]

Politico.com has county-by-county results in real time. Pay special attention to counties like Orangeburg, Bamberg, Allen, Hampton, Williamsburg, Marlboro, and Marion. These counties compose the “black belt” of S. Carolina.

I have an aunt that I classify as belonging to that exatct group ...

I’m not sure it’s such a good thing, given the kind of stuff that sometimes happens when someone’s favorite team wins. To much volatility.

One day, I hope that blacks will realize that the Republican Party best represents their healthy interests.

I share that hope... but I must add the Republican Party represents everyone's best interests. And I pray that Republicans who run for office realize why.

We cheered big time when the early (eastern) Dakota vote showed the election close and we realized that Daschle was going down.
