ORANGE - In a state where illegal immigration is among the most important Republican election issues, in one of the state's most Republican counties, a battle has been raging in an Albertsons parking lot.

At Chapman Avenue and Hewes Street, dozens of day laborers - many of whom are illegal immigrants - have been swarming mothers driving SUVs as they pull in to buy groceries, fed-up locals complain.

If McCain or Hillary or Obama becomes President, there will be amnesty. The border will virtually disappear.

No question about it. And no matter what politically motivated lies Shamnesty McCain tells this month, the fact that he made Reconquista Hernandez his "Hispanic outreach" director tells us all we need to know.

McCain got 36% of vote in Florida, 33% in South Carolina. That means 64% & 67% were against him. I hope those other people don’t jump to him as others drop out.

where 83 percent of all voters say they favor some kind of amnesty, if certain rules are followed.

I would like to see this statement proved. The certain rules, that would qualify this statement, would probably include deportation first, I guess.

Secure the border
Create tamper proof ID cards/work permits
Issue work permits at US Embassies overseas(time limited)
Require all workers to reapply using new permits.
Control guest workers by controlling the number of permits

Get out of the way as millions of illegals head south

Then throw them socialist solutions to quiet them..just like Mexico, Venezuela etc.

This is what scares me. The middle class that I grew up with in the 60s and 70s have dissapeared. If the trajectory remains, there will most certainly be a revolt which will result in some sort of socialist solution..or worse.

Those who stay home next election day are either tweedledees or tweedledums.

It MUST stop!

My wife and I recently watched “Waitress,” a clever and sweet little film written and directed by Adrienne Shelly. Shelly was A VERY talented lady who also played a supporting role.

She was senselessly MURDERED in her NY apartment on November 1, 2006. Her body was found hanging by a sheet from a shower rod – by her husband. She was 40 and left behind a 3 year-old daughter who will never know her real mother.

A 19 YEAR OLD EQUADORIAN — AN ILLEGAL WHO SHOULD NEVER HAVE EVEN BEEN IN THE COUNTRY IN THE FIRST PLACE (THANK YOU CLINTON AND BUSH) — CONFESSED TO HER MURDER.

They are killing 25 of us every day.

IT WILL STOP WHEN THE MORONS IN WASHINGTON GET AS SERIOUS ABOUT THE ILLEGAL INVASION AS THEY ARE ABOUT HARASSING NATIVE BORN CITIZENS AT THE AIRPORTS.

(AND, YES, I INTENDED TO SHOUT BECAUSE I’M MAD AS HELL AND NOT GONNA TAKE ANY MORE OF THIS CRAP!)

How about you???

I’ve been a regular at local congressional town hall meetings for a few dozen years and noted that starting around 10 years ago, the majority of those there were angry that nothing was being done about the illegal invasion.

Why are we still waiting for the clowns in Malfunction Junction – who can produce convoluted legislative proposals to line their pockets or deliver pork back home and ram it through in the dark of night – to secure our national borders?

Perhaps YOU should get on over to those pre-election public meetings and raise some serious hell – before YOU die at the hands of someone who ought not even BE HERE!

We have enough indigenous criminals. WE SURE AS HELL DON’T NEED TO IMPORT MORE.

I just emailed Julia at the Merc for the source of her poll. If I get a speedy resonce, I’ll post it here. But I’m not holding my breath for her response because I doubt such a poll exists.

That DhimmiRat ain’t my choice for anything but retirement.

At this point, I’ll hold my nose and vote for Romney, but I’d sure like to see Hunter and Thompson back in the mix, somehow...maybe just as solid conservative voices.

The liberals, in BOTH parties, have spent decades doing everything in the US govt's power to keep these people here. Why would they do anything on your list at this late date?

There are two major political powers in the USA. The liberal party and the not quite so liberal party.

Apparently, the article was referring to The Field Poll , by Field Research Corporation. Published April 10, 2007, the poll indicated that 83 percent of voters responded in favor to: Create a program that would allow illegal immigrants who have been living in the U.S. for a number of years an opportunity to stay in this country and apply for citizenship if they have a job, learned English and paid back taxes.

We’ve proven that shamnesty is a flashpoint issue that reverberates with the broad mass of the people. Witness last year’s smack down of McLame/Kennedy and even W’s plans.

Granted, the lamestream politicos have compromised themselves into insidiously creeping multi-culti hell, and political correctness rules their lives.

It’s time to reclaim our country, one issue at a time if need be. Remaining vigilant and active in communicating with our elected officials is a good start. How can we expect them to do our bidding if we don’t tell them what we want? It worked very well on the shamnesty plans...

Alternatively...Lock and Load.

I doubt such a poll exists.

Libs/MSM have learned they can post bogus or questionable info to advance their agenda and very few will question it.

Thanks for requesting the source.

I would like to point out that John McCain has been the most consistent advocate of sensible immigration reform including a plan offering a pathway to citizenship for undocumented Americans. The rest of the candidates either took extreme positions on immigration, which garnered them about 1% of the vote, or tried to compromise their previous positions in order to win over the anti-immigrant voters. Yet it is Sen. McCain who is well on his way to winning the GOP nomination.

I offer this as further evidence that GOP voters are not as concerned about immigration as some here and on talk radio as well as the liberals in the media would have us believe. Last year's fight against sensible immigration reform was carried out by a vocal yet few members of the right wing fringe. This is election is proof of that.

Republican voters have chosen four front-runner candidates who have no record of taking real action to secure our borders.

Governors of nonborder states don't really have the opportunity to do so. (But I know what you meant!)

Yet the stupid people of Florida voted for McCain. How scary if he won the primaries.
