Sorry, but Ann is being beyond idiotic on this. I might go third party, but I'll NEVER, EVER vote for a Marxist Democrat like Hillary or Obama.

I've lost respect for so many people who I thought were conservative.

This election cycle has been positively hideous.

“Ann is being beyond idiotic on this.”

She’s arguing the absurd in order to press her point home. I just finished watching it the second time, and she did a masterful job at making her point using that age-old technique.

In fact, it was devastating.... totally devastating... to McCain. This will be talked about for days, replayed on every news channel, and will follow McCain to the convention. Brilliant gambit on her part.

"I've lost respect for so many people who I thought were conservative."

Just because people disagree with you on strategy doesn't mean they're not conservative.

I could say I don't believe you're a conservative, because you supported and attempted to mislead others to support, a candidate who couldn't win. There are some who believe there are people among the conservative rank who are here to do just that, thereby insuring a liberal victory and a conservative defeat.

I haven't said it because I don't believe it. You are a conservative, as am I, as is Ann, as are some who supported Rudy as much as I may disagree with them.

I do believe, however, that you are not politically realistic.

This whole thread is turning into a crybaby fest. Cowboy up guys. So Hillary gets in and completely screws up the country for the next four years. The public will be so tired of the Libs and pissed off that the Repubs will win the next five presidential races. What’s so bad about that. It beats McVain doing the same thing and the Republican Party losing out for years to come.

>>>>I’ve lost respect for so many people who I thought were conservative.

I wouldn’t go so far as to vote for Hitlery, but I get Coulter’s point: McCain is a dangerous man.

Two examples:

In debates the other night, Romney called McCrazy to the carpet about his egregiously false charge about Mitt’s alleged “timetables” for withdrawal from Iraq. The actual quote was read by one of the journos, making it eminently clear to anyone who’s not McCrazy that Mitt was referring to the need for POLITICAL timetables and milestones for the Iraqi leadership to meet. Not timetables and milestones for the U.S. military to withdraw from Iraq. Yet confronted with the factual evidence (which he did not dispute), McCrazy asserted that he would continues to make his false charge against Romney, doing so with a sick little sneer that indicated “I’m lying, you caught me, and I don’t care.”

This is precisely the same sort of in-your-face arrogance, cynicism, and disrespect that has McCrazy spewing the line “the American people have said they want border security and I will give them that”, while refusing — absolutely saying “I will not answer that question” — when asked about his current thinking on Amnesty for illegals. Yet in smaller venues as recently as two weeks ago he has indeed been saying on the record and in public how much he DOES still support Amnesty and that it will be good for America and that he would sign an Amnesty bill as President.

McCrazy is just that, a Crazy man and he should not be voted into the White House by ANY Conservative who cares about the country.

Finally, I also have considered McCrazy to be a Democrat since at least 2000. So, having now had the Republican Party fractured, splintered, and smashed to smithereens by Values Voters and Social Conservatives (predicted by Barry Goldwater), one must simply ask who is the better DEMOCRAT to sit in the White House: McCrazy or Hitlery. It is not a false choice.

You don’t play chess well, do you?

This isn’t a simple black-white thing, not by a long shot. And AC is dramatizing an important point.

Look, as long as we have 41 reliable votes in the Senate, we can block nearly everything a Prezdent Hillary would want to do. But, with a pubbie Prez, those 41+ would be hard pressed to take the same stands and draw the same lines in the sand.

Like you, I cannot in good conscience vote for Hillary or, perhaps worse, Obama. But neither can I in good conscience vote for McCain.

So, that leaves third party, or write-in, or leave it blank. And vote for the rest of the Republicans on the ticket unless they have similar problems.

But Ann is more right than wrong about this. Hillary is better than McCain. She has talked pullout from Iraq because she's defending her left flank against her rival Democrats and avoiding offending the base any more than she has to. But some Democrats fight wars when they have to. In fact, almost every major war we have fought in has been presided over by Democrats. They actually have an advantage, because the media doesn't fight them every step of the way.

Yes, she would appoint bad SCOTUS judges, but so would McCain. She would empower the UN to kill babies with our tax money, but so would McCain. There's no avoiding it unless we get some kind of miracle here and somehow nominate a better candidate whom we can vote for.

Exactly, there’s go to be a better third party candidate for my conscience than McCain or Hillary.
