Of course I understand that. I'll probably have to vote for the little creep myself only because we have troops in harms way and I don't want to see the sacrifice made by thousands to go for naught. But it pisses me off when McCain people start preaching at us about beating the dems. We know what's at stake...we were the people who were actually supporting conservatives in this race.
The McAin people have sown discord, hate and disillusion in the party for the last 8 years. It's a little much to think that they'll be be accepted with grace by the rest of us now that there's no where else for Republicans to go.

I know emotions are running high right now but what is going on is very evident. All the things we knew were happening over the years about us being marginalized by the left wing elites in this country with constant support and advocacy of their partners in the media and academia has come to possible conclusion. What the GOP is asking us to do is marginalize ourselves. I will not do it. I will not vote for McCain. He epitomizes the GOP’s disdain for principled Conservatism. No amount of rhetoric or support from other conservatives can hide this truth, one only needs to examine McCain's actions.I don't know the intentions of Allen and Guiliani by supporting McCain. I don’t know what is on the minds of Bill Bennet and Bill Kristol and Kemp and Crist, but I do know what they are asking me to do and I will not contribute to the result. It may indeed happen but I will not marginalize myself.

Quit talking out of your ass. I hoped that Hunter and/or Thompson would have been the nominees...but thats not going to happen now is it?
Blow it out yours pal. I don't care who you were for. Be prepared to get hit back when you start pushing McCain on people now. Conservatives know what they need to do, even if our emotions keep screaming otherwise, we don't need you or anyone else telling us!

but understand that the times are too serious to take our football and run to the Dems home.
McCain is already there; sitting on the sofa with Kennedy, crinking something cold.
no room for you dude, but leave your wallet on the way out, okay?

Some will, but I don’t think anyone can call Tom couburn a liberal.
I can accept that men I respect see things differently than I, and I can certainly accept that many in the party feel the need to “close ranks”
Those of us out here in the hinterlands always have been the ones who had to challange the party leadership from without....you don’t get to be a Senator by bucking the party....even McCain only became a “maverick” long after he was in office.

I’m thinking about another long post. But I’ve been up way too long. It’s time to get some sleep.

Any historians out there know whether anyone has been elected even after fully alienating 15% of their base?
McCain's gotta know he doesn't have a chance.

Allen lost a state-wide election !
I am a Allen fan, but to me he demonstrated that he was NOT ready for the big time by losing here in VA.
If he couldn’t handle his ‘Macaca moment’ here in Virginia imagine how many such moments the MSM will place him into as McCain’s Veep candidate.
McCain’s has to come up with a Veep that adds ‘electability’ to the ticket as well as REAL conservative principles.
As far as what I am going to do in Nov, I prefer my vote to be for an candidate rather then a vote to be against a candidate. (Its always better to be on offense and set the agenda rather then be on defense and merely react to another's agenda!)
