Does McCain support the war on terror more than Hillary or Obama? Yes or no? Please be intellectually honest in your reply, or don’t bother.

I can’t stand McCain, but I owe it to the troops in the field to give them the best Commander in Chief available. Given a choice between McCain, Hillary and Obama, I think the answer is clear.

To be honest with you, judging from the way he voted,I would have to say that Hilary’s support of the War on Terror[whatever that is] is equal to his.

What I do know is that he holds me and people such as myself in the came contempt that Hillary does.

If you would give me an understandable definition of the “War on Terror” perhaps I could better answer your question.

But as far as being “Tough on Terror” goes, Hillary wins that one hands down.

To Hillary those that oppose her are terrorists and I believe that the same holds true with Mc Cain.

But to me as far as voting for John Mc Cain goes, the Republican Party and his supporters [I would use the term worshippers] on this forum have said time and again that they do not need the likes of me.

Therefre, in conclusion, his base can elect him. I do not go or stay where I am not wanted.

Good luck! You are going to need it.

My prediction is: By the time the main stream media and the Clinton attack machine get through dragging Mc Cain through the mud, if he wins one state he can consider that a victory.

Under Hillary, bull dykes will dominate the Supreme Court ala Ruth Bader Ginsberg clones, white males will be under attack daily, Cabinet that will “look like America” (if America was filled with ugly Janet Reno women), strengthening of NAFTA, affirmative action the norm, diversity the norm, illegal immigrants not only legalized but given rights above native born immigrants, immigration from the third world increased, and gas taxes taking gas to over 5 bucks a gallon. I will take my chances with McCain, although I loathe him and wish Romney or Thompson was the nominee.

Keyes’ prior vote tallies were a demonstration of his ability to move the masses. As it turns out he has none.

Look I have no problem with people supporting Keyes, he’s a good guy. But when Keyes supporters start saying he can win there’s the weight of history that says they’re 100% wrong. I’m not going to go around touting someone who has never broken 40% in a vote, who has never demonstrated the slightest ability to win any election on any level, for the nomination. I might vote for guys that don’t have a chance in hell but I’m not going to stump for them.

And please tell me how you know I am NOT in the military, my friend?

If you don’t want to vote for McCain, that’s fine. Nobody’s telling you what to think. It’s sad to think that you are under the impression that somebody COULD tell you what to think. Why are you so hostile to those who plan to vote for the Republican nominee? I repeat: I do not like McCain, but I do not want to see Hillary or Obama in the White House. Apparently, that scenario does not bother you, so vote for whom you will.

Cheers.

We also need to understand that we are responsible for this together, not just one wing or faction of the GOP.

The election was rigged.

Allowing liberals to pick the GOP nominee in front loaded open primaries and with illegal crossover votes in Florida stole my vote.

The open border RNC hacks keep colluding with the DNC whores in the bowels of D.C. and limousine liberals on Madison Avenue to make a buck with cheap Mexican labor.

This is what this whole thing is about.

THEY CAN ALL GO TO HELL.

They took a Constitutional oath to protect the states from invasion. They are all committing treason.

If McCain doesn’t get enough delegates to win on first ballot, there’s a chance for another candidate to win. Alan Keyes has been the candidate who best represents my heartfelt views on virtually every issue that’s important to me in this election. I am happy to urge others to consider voting for him. As to the weight of history, I recall that the people of Poland successfully stood up against the Soviet Union, and it was a simple development — the widespread availability of cheap fax machines — that may have made the difference between their success and history-as-usual. If enough folks think that Alan Keyes best represents their views on things, and they persuade others, and so on and so forth, the numbers history may take care of itself. The simple development in this case may be that enough folks decided to stump for the candidate who best represents their views. If I didn’t think the coming election was so important, I wouldn’t have trouble finding other ways to spend my time than getting more involved in trying to persuade others. There’s an eight-page color pdf flyer on the Keyes website. It’s not much effort to print some out and go visit some of my neighbors this afternoon. See ya!

McCain is going to get enough delegates, if not in the primaries then by making a deal with Romney or Huck to trade their delegates and the VP spot. Of course even if he didn’t there’s no way Keyes would get the nomination in a brokered convention, he’ll have no delegates there at all. So while there might be a chance of somebody other than McCain getting it there’s just as little chance of Keyes winning a brokered convention as winning the nomination out in the field. And if somehow he did pull of the nomination in a brokered convention it would be the Illinois Senate race all over again, 27% of the vote.

He can’t win elections, he’s a terrible candidate, it really is just that simple. He might be the smartest guy in politics today, but he’s just as likely to be the worst candidate in politics today. He needs to stop shooting for the top and go for Congress or something smaller, win there, learn some lessons, build from there.

McCain has a big advantage. But all else is not equal, so his advantage this year may not be analogous to prior nomination contests. I’m not so confident as you appear to be, for example, that McCain’s position would strengthen in subsequent round of voting, no matter with whom he successfully made deals. Keyes has been my favorite since the day he entered the race. I’m delighted that he’s still in the race, and I’m grateful that thousands have voted for him so far. How to turn those thousands into millions may be as simple as folks talking to their neighbors about why this election is important and which candidate best represents their views.

There won’t be subsequent rounds. McCain is now 477 delegates short of the magic number, only has one real contending candidate (Huck) left to contend with, and 988 left up for grabs. The numbers are pretty simple, there’s a very high chance he’ll win nice and clean, if he doesn’t win clean then between the last primary and the convention he’ll make a deal with one of the candidates, probably Romney, who will then “urge” his delegates to vote for McCain in exchange for being named the VP candidate. 1 round and done.

Of course you just outlined exactly why Keyes will never win the nomination, never win the presidency, probably never win anything. Thousands have voted for him, by this point in the process for any real contender that actually might win an election in their lifetime that number needs to be MILLIONS. The fact that he’s run as many times as he has and that number has not turned into millions shows it NEVER will.

McCain still has to earn hundreds of delegates. I see from other posts of yours here in FreeRepublic that you are an eloquent opponent of his assault on the first amendment. You are not alone in your persuasive abilities. So who amongst the candidates still in the race best represents your views? And do you doubt that you, and the many other thoughtful folks who have long decided that McCain is not worthy of their vote, can each personally influence voters in the remaining primaries? There are many millions of folks of good will who, for a myriad of reasons, don’t follow current civics as closely as you do. You’re sure free to predict with certitude, but I hope you understand that there’s a possibility that you personally can have an impact.

I don’t know if Keyes represents all your views as well as he does mine. If he does, and if you think this election is important, I hope you will consider doing a little stumping yourself!

I moved to Maryland in the mid-1980s, shortly before the primary in which Keyes was a candidate for Senate. My decision on how to vote was based on the facts presented in my local newspaper. I voted for a woman who ended up being convicted some years later of trying to hire a hitman to kill her husband. If I had seen and heard Alan Keyes before casting that vote, I think it likely I would have voted differently. I think tens of millions can be swayed as easily as one, and will enthusiastically do what I can to help others see and hear Alan Keyes for themselves.

Why is pooping on Reagan’s grave being conservative?

And why is spitting on our troops being conservative?

Ronald Reagan always said stand behind your party. He’d never support Hillary or Obama.

Every single person who would stay home or vote for the democrat IS TAKING A DUMP ON REAGAN’S GRAVE!

Since when is supporting Hillary or Obama and pooping on Reagan’s grave and spitting in the faces of our soldiers being conversative?

I never thought I’d consider Free Republic the leader of a spit on Reagan’s grave movement.

What bothers me is seeing someone - you - who admittedly states a distaste for McCain telling others to vote for him.

To help the troops in Afganistan and Iraq, you see...

That looks like hypocrisy to me. (I’m telling you to vote for someone I hate!)

Furthermore, it betrays the whole concept of democracy and voting! One is supposed to vote for a candidate that best represents their beliefs - so that, in the end, you can look yourself in the face without being ashamed.

Not to mention that the whole ‘help the troops out’ line implies that the troops are asking for help - help that can only come from McCain.

Ergo, the whole “why are you putting words in my mouth” post in the first place - as well as the heat behind it.
