Fox News Exclusive: Huckabee Campaign Calls for “Full Investigation” into Washington State Results
FoxNews ^ | February 10, 2008 | Fin Gomez

Fox News has learned that the Huckabee campaign has called for a “full investigation” into the Washington State Caucus results, and are sending campaign lawyers to the state to help in that pursuit. Ed Rollins, Huckabee campaign chairman, directly challenged Washington State GOP Chairman Luke Essers move in anounncing that John McCain had won the tight race with only 87.2 percent of the votes counted.

” The chairman showed very bad judgement in stopping the voting last night when announcing John McCain had won, when there was less that a 200 vote margin between the two candidates,” Rollins told Fox in an exclusive interview.” You never announce a vote, in my 40 years of politics I have never know anybody to announce a vote count before the vote is counted.”

Yeah, real chump that Huckabee. Turns out Fred was McCains best friend, handing him SC and then endorsing him again .... just like in 2000.

But wait, he’s the true conservative, right? Meanwhile, the guy who was supposedly in league with McCain is still in it and contesting an election he was handed without 12.8% of precints votes counted.

Keep drinking the self delusional kool aid as the Republican party becomes more and more indistinguishable from the dems.

The difference is that Huckabee burned his bridge with Romney supporters with the West Virginia collusion and subsequent lying that no deal took place.

I’m uninterested in treating him fairly now, as he did not care about fairness before. He can be on his own as far I’m concerned. When he apologizes for West Virginia, I’ll reconsider my stance.

Is this true? Only a 200 vote spread or 26% to 24%?

McCain can’t win in the South, and he just might not be able to win in the Northwest. Count the votes!

The GOP site at www.wagop.org never posted the precinct by precinct totals. Last night the precinct counts showed 0% in each precinct, but now the link to the precinct counts is missing.

So, the count was suspended last night. Was it resumed and completed today? If so, what are the final numbers? If not why not? And if not Washington State GOP Chairman Luke Essers has got some `splain' to do.

Last I heard the general concept is to count ALL the damn votes. Whether you like the "chump" or not.

I don't care for Huckabee (and I still think he's in collusion with McC), but this doesn't sound right. Until this election cycle, I felt that the GOP (except for Nixon-like moments) was either too honest or too inept to be genuinely criminal.

“I’m uninterested in treating him fairly now”

That’s a damn shame. No matter what anyone does to you, you should ALWAYS do the right thing. It’s no wonder our party is in the state it it.

Caucuses are corrupt, coercive and un-American. They should be banned outright. Whether it is manipulation in WV or WA, or whether it is blackmail of Culinary Worker underlings by Obama-supporting supervisors in Vegas, all votes should be One Man, One Vote, Secret Ballot.

I’m not a Huckabee supporter. I really don’t like him at all... However, they have a very valid point, and it’s not crying over spilt milk to demand an actual complete COUNT of the vote totals — NOTE that is a COUNT not a RE-COUNT!!!

It’s absolutely ridiculous to go home when a job is 8/10 of the way done — how lazy of them. This was a very, very stupid thing for the WA GOP to do.

If there’s one thing everyone should’ve learned from the Bush/Gore debacle it should be this — DON’T CALL ANY RACE BEFORE THE VOTES ARE COMPLETELY COUNTED!!!! I can’t believe with what we’ve witnessed in the media regarding this exact type of situation that the WA GOP would screw up this royally.

Somebody please explain how the voting was stopped? No voting was stopped. Could it be they just slowed down the immediacy of the vote counting process?

I voted in the WA caucus yesterday. After I left I realized that they had counted the ‘sign in sheets’ and reported those results to us rather than the actual count of delegates who were elected by each precinct. I thought it was each precincts elected delegates that would be counted, rather than a counting of every persons personal choice for President whether they were a delegate or not.

I don’t blame Huckabee. After the 2004 election, I question anything coming out of WA State.

200 vote difference with 13% of the votes left uncounted and they stopped the count? That’s not just irresponsible; that’s crazy criminal! I’m sure Esser just did what he thought was best “for the greater good” ... but doesn’t that just typify the liberal point of view that they know what’s best for all the sheeple? I’d demand a recount too. It’s a dirty trick that makes me all the less “Republican”. Anybody here who thinks it’s okay to have their vote skipped, chime in. I, for one, would *want* mine counted. Get ‘em, Mike.
