How deep into the Dem mindset is Joe Klein? The Time columnist can't figure out why Hillary Clinton drives Republicans up a wall. He candidly admitted this today, chatting with Brian Williams on MSNBC.
BRIAN WILLIAMS: On the Republican side, does John McCain blunt back the attack, the insurgents on the right?
JOE KLEIN: I think to a certain extent he will. He'll have a lot more -- you know Hillary Clinton as the Democratic nominee would give him a great assist. Because the Republicans are completely berserk for reasons that kind of escape me about Hillary Clinton. She's not a wild lefty, she's a fairly moderate person. But she's the enemy, and if she materializes on the Democratic side, you're going to have a united and fierce Republican party.

Oh...
I don’t know why we dislike her so much....
Is it the SOCIALISM??
Or is it the BLATANT CORRUPTION?
Some of these guys think a road trip to get diverse opinions consists of a trip to the upper west side of Manhattan from their homes on the upper east side. Maybe they should get out of Manhattan altogether once in a while to learn more about divergent points of view.
I still can’t understand why the fairly moderate Bush riles Democrats.
Line ‘o the day!
Congressman Billybob
There is derangement syndrome on both sides.
I believe that was actually NYT film critic Pauline Kael talking about Nixon in 1972, but I still get your point.
Joe Klein is the fish swimming in the sea of socialism...
“What Water?”
Well, you must admit, if you wanted to destroy someone in the media, she’s your gal...
I'm sure there are plenty of carpets that need cleaned in the various gov't buildings.
In Maxine Waters World, that's a 360!! LOL...
If Hillary is “fairly moderate”, what the hell does a left wing radical look like?
At the simplest, the reason Bush riles them so much is that he can’t speak eloquently. Remember that, to a leftist, form is SO much more important than substance.
The left all have such a superiority complex that it really irks them that someone so apparently stupid could be in power.
Moderate? Maybe between the opposite ends of the political spectrum ranging from Marxism to Leninism.
Only compared to Obama.
Sheesh, you say it like it's a bad thing.
Sounds like the lady who just called the Rush Show. What is it about a woman 60 who calls herself a mother first when her ‘baby’ is 27 that drives sane people around the bend?
Richard Nixon was, from today's point of view, quite liberal in his politics but he was despised by liberals because of his mannerisms and style. It's not so very different with conservatives and Hillary.
I'm not saying that policy and philosophical differences aren't important, but they don't wrankle as much as the way people behave -- the little things that get to you (that may not end up being so little in the end).
And what is it with "Anonymous Joe" anyway? If you pay even a little attention to a politician, you know why people might not take a liking to him or her, even if the politician in question is one you support. It's not rocket science.
If a columnists claims not to have a clue about why people hate a politician it's either because he's naive, or because he's trying to discredit the opponents of a candidate he supports.
