And then there’s Newt’s recent comment re the 13 million who turned out to vote in the dem primaries vs. the 8 million who turned out for the republican primaries. I think he called this “ominous.” I would agree.
A brilliant observation
I turned out for the Democrat primary, myself. The GOP didn’t have any meaningful choices left by the time this got to Virginia, so the opportunity to help Hillary lose was too tempting to pass up.
I think one thing we are seeing with Obama’s popularity is a lot of people who normally turn out GOP voting for him to put an end to the Clinton era for good.
As far as McCain goes... if he wants a Republican to be President in 2009, he’ll step aside and support someone who can credibly earn the respect of all factions of the party. And if he doesn’t want a Republican to win, I don’t see why I should either.

Dude, nothing ominous about it. Despite the fact that many Reps see that Obama is the better candidate, they will not vote for him, I hope coz he’s a Dem, but I think coz he’s black, too.
Reps like Obama way more than Mccain, no doubt. Doesn’t mean squat. All this “VOTER TURNOUT” bull crap is a very, very nice distraction for Dems to focus on. Come November, reps are gonna be at the voting boots in droves. 52 mill voted for bush, they’re not all gonna stay home.
We’re all gonna scream It’s a Miracle when mccain wins but it’s a nobrainer. america CANNOT go from bush to obama, however moderate he might be.

God is that ever the truth. Earlier today while reading a McCain thread I thought about a 10cc song from the early 70's called "I Want To Be A Boss"
I think Obama as President would be good for the country in the long run.
he will suspend all surveillance of terrorists, but then he’d have to restart it after a few cities are lost to a nuke attack.
He’ll let the Bush tax cuts expire, bringing on a recession, and hatred for himself. (Most of the people voting for Obama are only vaguely aware of the Bush tax cuts, and totally unaware that they are going to expire.)
He’ll pull out of Iraq, but the loss of a few cities to a nuke will make that move unpopular in short order.
He’ll bring on inflation, gigantic new entitlements, and throw open the borders.
He’ll be more leftist than Carter, and more unsuccessful. He’ll bring on a conservative reaction unlike any that’s been seen before.
Right now, a real reform of the Republican Party is impossible, because the leadership have been in Washington too long, and are corrupt.
I am miles away from being a political analyst but even I can give you a long list of why this poll is meaningless and probably ass backwards.

Everybody throws Reagan’s name around like it’s sacred, but nobody wants to follow his lead.
The White House is moving left.

FREEPERS for Obama! That is all I have been hearing...makes me sick!!! Get a grip FREEPERS. Vote Hillary in Texas and Ohio...and Pennslvania in April. It is the right thing to do. Obama must be stopped and then Hillary during the general. Why FREEPERS don’t want the Republicans to stop Hillary is beyond me.

I predict Obama will win 48 states. He will lose Wyoming and Montana and that is it. I would have said Obama would win only 47 states but McCain f’ed his chances in Utah.
If we have to have one of them, I’d rather have osamabama - she’s been in the White House already and knows the ropes...
If Obama gets it, Gay marriage will pass (he will win more Senate Seats), taxes will rise, Iraq will be over, We will be friendly to Iran and Venesuela, abortions will be allowed until the baby is six months old, and that is just the first day. Seriously think before you hope that Obama is the next President of the United States.
Wow you hate Hillary that much that you want Obama to win. That does not make sense for someone here ten years and is typically a conservative.
