WASHINGTON, Feb 16 (Reuters) - Democrats accused U.S. President Bush on Saturday of fanning terrorism fears shamelessly as he was about to lose certain authority to wiretap foreign suspects without a court warrant.
Bush, for his part, flailed the Democratic-controlled House of Representatives for what he called putting U.S. security at risk for political motives in an election year.
The Democratic leaders of the House and Senate, responding to a Republican blitz on the issue, said there should be no question in anyone's mind that U.S. intelligence agencies retained the right to take "all actions necessary to protect" U.S. security.
"For anyone to suggest otherwise is irresponsible and totally inaccurate," Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid of Nevada and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California said in a joint statement.

They were responsible for the first series of attacks...
they won’t care about this move and will only blame Bush for their faults again.
There's the bias right there in a nutshell. The media "reports" what "Democrats accuse" others of, thereby acting as their megaphone and putting whoever they accuse on the defensive.

Library designed to stir up jihad says prosecutor
AN ARTICLE praising the September 11 hijackers and videos of Muslim extremists beheading hostages were found in raids on a home-grown terror cell, a court heard yesterday.
A "common library" of terror manuals and videos was shared by group members and was designed to stir them up to commit violent jihad, prosecutor Richard Maidment, SC, said.
He said Abdullah Merhi was found with a book entitled The 19 Lions, which heaped praise on those involved in the attacks on the World Trade Centre and Pentagon in 2001 that killed almost 3000 people.
"It glorifies the 19 aircraft hijackers responsible . . . and hails them as martyrs, suggesting they will go down in history for perpetrating one of the greatest victories that has ever been perpetrated in the name of Islam," he said.
“We, the Muslims of the Washington Metropolitan area, are here today in subfreezing temperatures to tell our brothers and sisters in Filistin that you have learned the way, that you have known that the jihad way is the way to liberate your land. And we, by standing here today, despite the weather and despite anything else, we are telling them that we are with you, we are supporting you, and we will do everything that we can, Insha’Allah, to help your cause.”
Police nabbed Mohammad Islam, alias Mujahid Islam alias Rajput, from a hotel in the jurisdiction of Makki Shah police station and found in the room 14 kilogram of explosives, a rifle of .44 bore, two magazines, 61 bullets of 0.44, 30 bore pistol, 12 magazines, 72 bullets of 30 bore, two empties of 30 bore, two cell-pones, an artificial pistol, a rifle butt, a silencer, a big blue coloured bag, religious magazines and stickers, booklets of banned militant outfit Tanzeem Al-Jihad, a belt, two fake driving licenses and 14 fake arm licenses, he said.
Jihad pamphlet couple in court
Amjad Mahmood, 29, and Shella Roma, 27, are suspected of circulating a document telling others to go abroad and fight jihad.
The couple, who have a six-month-old baby, were arrested by counter-terrorist police at their home in Oldham, Greater Manchester, last month.

You're welcome Cindy. Weak on terrorism in the USA is not the kind of CHANGE politicians should deem best for our families and loved ones. As indicated above, jihadis want to "bring it on over to us." Failure to be prepared would be downright negligent.
