"I guess it’s about time to remove the national markings from our fighters again. How about replacing them with the star and crescent"

That would be completely appropriate in this case.

One of the posters on earlier post said that he had served in our forces Iraq & Afghanistan, but that he would "burn his uniform rather than fight Serbs" in this.

If you force our guys to choose between serving the Cross & serving the Crescent, don't assume that waiving an American flag in front of that Crescent is going to make them want to go!

"...According to a 2002 Wall Street Journal report, al-Qaida began operating actively in Kosovo, and in the rest of the Balkans, in 1992. Osama bin Laden visited Albania in 1996 and 1997. He received a Bosnian passport from the Bosnian Embassy in Austria in 1993. Acting on bin Laden's orders, in 1994 his deputy, Ayman Zawahiri set up training bases throughout the Balkans including one in Mitrovica, Kosovo. The Taliban and al-Qaida set up drug trafficking operations in Kosovo to finance their operations in Afghanistan and beyond.

In 2006, John Gizzi reported in Human Events that the German intelligence service BND had confirmed that the 2005 terrorist bombings in Britain and the 2004 bombings in Spain were organized in Kosovo. Furthermore, "The man at the center of the provision of the explosives in both instances was an Albanian, operating mostly out of Kosovo... who is the second ranking leader of the Kosovo Liberation Army, Niam Behzloulzi."

Then, too, at its 1998 meeting in Pakistan, the Organization of the Islamic Conference declared that the Albanian separatists in Kosovo were fighting a jihad. The OIC called on the Muslim world to help "this fight for freedom on the occupied Muslim territories."

Supporters of Kosovo claim that as victims of "genocide," Kosovar Muslims deserve independence. But if the Muslims in Kosovo have been targeted for annihilation by the Serbs, then how is it that they have increased from 48% of the population in 1948 to 92% today? Indeed, Muslims comprised only 78% of the population in 1991, the year before Yugoslavia broke apart.

In recent years particularly, it is Kosovo's Serbian Christians, not its Albanian Muslims, who are targeted for ethnic cleansing. Since 1999, two-thirds of Kosovo's Serbs - some 250,000 people - have fled the area.

The emergence of a potentially destabilizing state in Kosovo is clearly an instance of political interests trumping law. Under international law, Kosovo has no right to be considered a sovereign state. Even UN Security Council Resolution 1244 from 1999, which the KLA claims provides the legal basis for Kosovar sovereignty, explicitly recognizes Serbian sovereignty over Kosovo..."

‘Rice said it is time for Serbs to accept that Kosovo is no longer theirs. She also suggested that it also time to drop centuries of grievance and sentimentality in the Balkans.’

She may have fashion sense, but from what I've seen that's the only sense she has. What was she thinking? What was Bush thinking?

US Troops out of the Balkans! We do not need to fight Clinton’s illegal and immoral war for BJ’s. Where is Code Pinko and the rest of the anarcho-communist peace lovers on this one?

I deeply fear that we are about to condone a Christian blood bath (or even participate in one) for no other national interests except political correctness and the ongoing destructive policy of pandering to the Muzzies and their UN enablers. I remain intensely proud of my country and its institutions, but the baffling actions of the State Department are leading me believe that their loyalties lie elsewhere.

When will they go nuclear?

Right after Russia finishes showing Iran and Korea how to build nukes.

I think we made a mistake by splitting this country up.

Agree 100%.

The Albanian muslims moved in on the indigenous Serbs in Kosovo and when the fighting started we backed the muslims.

Why we helped create a another radical muslim stronghold by bombing the people they were invading is a question for the ages.

Hate to tell you this but we have been doing that for the last nine years in Kosovo. So what's new?

Even Michael Savage went after the Kosovo issue, yesterday and today.

Why blame bill clinton, he behaved just like a democrat. It was expected he would favor Kosovo albanians over serb christians. But how do you explain what Bush, supposedly a conservative christian, is doing to Serbs ?

Freepback: Bin Laden in Kosovo: Yugoslavia [Free Republic] (4/27/2000)

BELGRADE: Saudi millionaire Osama bin Laden, wanted for terrorism by the United States, is in Kosovo, the official Yugoslav news agency, Tanjug, said.

"After hiding out for several years in Afghanistan," the agency said on Wednesday in a despatch from Kosovo's capital Pristina, ``Bin Laden has found a new refuge in the Balkans, precisely in Kosovo, the nest of European terrorism."

Tanjug said Bin Laden, whom the agency described as a "terrorist and Islamic fanatic'', arrived from Albania after having formed a group of 500 Islamic fighters in the eastern region around Korce and Pogradec to carry out "terrorist acts" in Kosovo. He planned similar acts in the southern region of Serbia bordering on Kosovo including Presevo, Medvedja and Bujanovac, the Yugoslav agency said.

Tension has been mounting in the region over the last 10 days, with many armed incidents and increasing ethnic Albanian demands. Its population includes about 70,000 ethnic Albanians, many of whom have complained of being harassed or maltreated by the Serbian police.

Tanjug said Bin Laden arrived in Kosovo accompanied by "a close collaborator, Abu Hassan."

Bin Laden is wanted by the United States in connection with the 1998 bombings of the US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, in which 224 people were killed. (AFP)

I wonder who'll get a better night's sleep (in regards to those powder-blue bombers):

The murderous Islamic Janjaweed scum after a day's "work" of butchering and raping non-Muslim Infidels, or the Serbian tank squads defending their homeland against the Albanian Muslim horde?

Freepback: Alarm at among U.N. and EU staff in Kosovo at the creeping influence of Wahabi Islam (1/2/2003)

UPI hears ...

From the International Desk

Published 1/1/2003 11:35 AM

Insider notes from United Press International for Jan. 1 …

Alarm is mounting among U.N. and EU staff in Kosovo at the creeping influence of the puritanical sect of Wahabi Islam, spread across Kosovo's predominantly Muslim population of 2.7 million with large helpings of financial aid from Saudi Arabia. They count 98 primary and secondary schools now built, funded and staffed by the Islamic proselytizers, mostly in rural areas where there are few other schools available, along with 24 mosques and 14 orphanages. Ironically, it was the Albanian-born Muhammad Ali who in the early 19th century as ruler of Egypt stopped the spread of Wahabism. Now the Wahabis are back and expanding fast in his homeland -- much to the outrage of Rexhep Boja, mufti of Kosovo, who argues "Albanians have been Muslims for more than 500 years and don't need outsiders to tell them the prosper way to practice Islam."

Why leave out the "Idiots" like George W. Bush who supported the Kosovo war and has kept troops there ever since and idiots like John McCain who was a main cheerleader for Clinton's Kosovo war?

Sadly, party loyalists and the Bush rump swabs are in denial.
