That is a large part of the problem.

We’ve developed less oil, and used more corn for ethanol resulting in less land for foodstuffs all for a fuel that is less 3/4 the BTU’s of gasoline or diesel.

Food and fuel shortages will result. But Archer Daniels Midland stock is up!

Inflation is a monetary phenomenon due to an overexpansion of the money supply. It’s a general rise in prices. What you see in foodstuffs due to ethanol competition feels like inflation at the consumer level but it’s not what economists identify as inflation.
