"Mr. P.C." McCain: How he wants our votes but not our introductions
self | 2/27/08 | levotb

Posted on 02/27/2008 7:12:55 PM PST by levotb

John McCain couldn't handle the outstanding rebel-rousing introduction by Cincinnati conservative talk show host, Bill Cunningham the other day--a man the McCain Campaign had hired to introduce the Senator. Instead, Wussie McCain immediately "apologized" profusely to Obama for Cunningham's using Obama's full name over and over during the intro. This shows how "p.c." and how "wussie" John McCain is when it comes to worrying about how the left is going to perceive him. Instead of concentrating on gaining base support which he sorely needs and can't win without, he's playing to the left and saying to conservatives, "S**w you! I can win without you!".

I watched that introduction by Cunningham and there was NOTHING "nasty" or untoward in it. He didn't call the Jewish religion "a gutter religion", and he didn't call New York City "Hymietown"! As I see it, he was asking, "Do we really want a President who, if he is not a Muslim now, is going to (as Obama has said he would) 'cozy up' or "make friends" with Islamic dictators like Iran's dictator?" That was the message I got from Cunningham's words.

The ensuing flap is something McCain probably said "I could care less about", but he should care about it because it's hurting him, big-time, with conservatives who might otherwise be inclined to vote for him. Limbaugh, Hannity et al are rushing to defend one of their own, Bill Cunningham, as well they should. If McCain thinks he's "scored points" with conservatives, he needs to "think again". After McCain's shafting Cunningham following Cunningham's introduction, Cunningham said he "...would never vote for McCain" although he wouldn't vote for Hillary, either.

Besides being a nasty old man, John McCain still doesn’t value the words or accolades from conservatives--even those who have endorsed him. I think conservatives should "return the cold shoulder" towards McCain in November, big-time!

Maybe he didn’t feel compelled to follow his fathers faith because his father basically dumped him.

I Donated thousands of dollars to Bush, McTraitor will get no money and help from me,

I'm sure you donated thousands of dollars to President Bush. You are so transparent troll.

Though I don't like McCain that much, I sure don't want to toe the Communist line with Obama or Clinton.

I think McCain is wise not to get into this and risk the media making him a bigot. Beleive me, the media would not let go of him if he didn’t condemn it. What’s funny is the rats find it offensive that his entire name was used...What are they afraid of? His name or the fact that the American people will associate Obama with, the likes of Udai and Qusai Hussein.

In 04, McLame had already alienated many for his stand and actions related to the POW/MIA hearings; how he and Kerry basically shut down any further investigations, berated, impugned and chastised Veteran family members and witnesses and refused to hold Vietnam’s feet to the fire in requiring concessions toward any relaxations of its tyrannical human rights abuse, much less insist on a more complete accounting of POW/MIA information.

Then, in 04, when we Vietnam Veterans began a concentrated effort to expose John “The Snake” Kerry for the backstabbing, traitorous POS he was, he basically told us to get over it, keep quiet and go away.

He also dissed and attacked the Swift Boat Vets for truth as well as John O’Neil’s book (Unfit for Command) BEFORE it was even released.

Rather than support us (or at the very least stay neutral) he came to the defense of his good “bud,” Kerry, the very same Kerry who thru his anti-war actions and antics and his ilk, had been responsible for prolonging the war thereby, protracting the suffering he and the other POW’s endured by years.

When he did this, McPain lost what little respect he had from me and many other vets and regardless of his having endured much as a POW, this in of itself could not justify his actions.

At that time (and I wish I still had it) I wrote him a 4 page letter in which I expressed my disappointment and anger towards him and the one thing I remember well is that I told him that even if he had found it in his heart to forgive and forget what Kerry had done, I could not.

Thus regardless of who ends up in the White House, I cannot bring myself to vote for him. Like W, he would probably end up being strong on National Defense and taxes. However, like Bush, he will be a disastrous RINO, with regards to every other PC issue and will end up caving to the DHIMIS even more than W has-—which is quite a lot.

Thankfully, whether or not I vote or for who, here in Vermont, is wholly irrelevant, thus, I won’t lose any sleep and whatever the outcome, will learn to adapt, go to Church more often and pray a lot for our country—God Bless It!!

I am praying she gets the nomination so I can vote for her in November.

This "Let Hillary Win" campaign is the worst idea of the millenium. She would do incalculable damage while you're waiting for 2012, and then she'd get re-elected. You'd be better off voting for McCain on the basis of his old age.

Hillary is The Worst Of The Worst, and I will rejoice if she loses her party's nomination.

I think the relevant question is what is the man’s name?

His name is Barack [CENSORED} Obama, Jr. When he is sworn as President I wonder what name he will give. What name id he give when he was sworn in as a Senator.

"Maybe he didn’t feel compelled to follow his fathers faith because his father basically dumped him."

That would be a valid reason. I'd like to hear him denounce the muslim religion openly.

The MSM certainly took Romney apart on his religion...so fair is fair!

Yes, he is supporting Hillary Clinton. The CNN report quotes him directly: “I’m joining Ann Coulter in supporting Hillary Rodham Clinton”.

There is plenty to take the media on about but Romney and his religion is not one of them. The religious right crucified Romney. I think Obama should denounce radical Islam. Our own president hasn’t lumped every Muslim into a terrorist group.

I can’t think of a thing my kids could do that would require me to get a new FR screenname.

"I think Obama should denounce radical Islam. Our own president hasn’t lumped every Muslim into a terrorist group."

I think he should denounce it too!!

As for our President - calling Islam a religion of peace is quite a stretch in my opinion!

As for Obama - I have not heard him denouncing radical Islam...that's why the subject must be discussed.

The DU pest crowd were here in full force during the 2006 election recommending the same stupid idea.

There's a old Chinese proverb that says: Noob who signed up today has no room to accuse long standing FReepers of being DU pests.

And do you remember Ann Richards nationally televised speech at the democrat convention in, I think, 1982? George HER-bert WALK-er Bush was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. Blah blah blah. I don't recall the NYT's calling foul on that one.

I think it was '92, and what she said was even more disrespectful: "Poooor Geoooorge...he was born with a silver FOOT in his mouth." The MSM loved that and replayed it continually. She rode it to the Texas governorship.
