He tried that. He also tried for Lt Governor and lost. He had run for other state-wide office. I suspect this is his best opportunity if he wishes to continue in politics.

I’m glad to see him move forward we need good men like him.

Shame there aren’t more around running for office.

I called his office one day and got him on the phone. What a pleasure he was to talk to and how nice he was.

Not the best for Californiua but the smartest for the senator.

One of the few moves that the senator could make which doesn't require the blessing of or help from the CAGOP.

This man is an exception to the rule. It's a pity that the California GOP has consistently rejected his talents.

Thats because the old Wilson regime still dominates the CA GOP. The Wilson regime is rotten and McClintock exposed them , there will always be bad blood there.

I'm 100% behind McClintock

he should do Ok since the 4th district is sportsmans paradise california and not hippie land or mexico norte

------------------------------------------------

"California's 4th congressional district covers the northeastern corner of California along Route 395, covering El Dorado, Placer, Nevada, Sierra, Plumas, Lassen, and Modoc Counties, part of Butte County including Oroville, and a small portion of Sacramento County including Orangevale. The district is currently represented by Republican John Doolittle, who has represented the district since 1991. Republicans have 48 percent of voter registrations; Democrats have 30 percent and the Libertarians hold roughly 5 percent.

I just wish Tom could run from his own district and not muck up the RINO vs Righteous conservative battle between Ose and Oller. Tom seems so out of place as a bloomin carpetbagger!!!

Go Tom!

The Republicans DESPERATELY need more RLC-aligned folks to steer the party away from big-government left-wing idiocy.

“For those outside of California, this is a very good man. He is what the Founding Fathers envisioned in doing the people’s business.”

Tom McClintock is a good man and a VERY smart man. He is a straight line conservative. He stands on his principles and is able to express himself and his ideas in the clearest manner. He is incredibly likeable but he doesn’t play politician’s games. He will help the scars to heal in Doolittle’s former district and represent them with honor. I lived in that district and the majority of voters are conservative. He should easily win the seat.

Trying to be a life long government employee with term limits has been tough.
I remember he cried when he didn’t win the Gov job, then claimed he got great press so the whole state got to know him. Then he bombed running for the LT. Gov. job.

I think he is has conservative values, but he does have a problem in the likability area.

I am SO GLAD to see so many Freeper friends supporting Tom McClintock, a TRUE CONSERVATIVE if there ever was one, for Congress. We’re losing Hunter and Tancredo. What few of you have mentioned is Tom’s strong, Tancredo-like anti-Invasion views. He’s no RINO and he MEANS BUSINESS!! Look for him to work closely with Bilbray and to become THE LIGHTENING ROD for the anti-Invasion movement in CA which has needed much infusion of new blood.

God bless Tom!!

We need Tom McClintock to take the lead in the fight against the Invasion in Northern California. Bilbray and others have their hands full in So. Cal. We need a firebrand here, and he’ll become a leader REAL fast!!
