I find myself more on your side of this relatively minor dispute.

I didn’t like it when opponents of Bobby Jindal called him “Piyush” and when opponents of Mitt Romney(*) called him “Willard.”

“But it’s his actual naaaaaaaaaaame!” Yeah, but it’s gratuitous and childish. Talk about the issues, say I.

(*— full disclosure: I was a Fred Thompson guy.)

That is true. People were outraged when people called Senator Thompson “FREDDIE”. They were pissed off like crazy even though that WAS HIS NAME!!! Funny how FREEPERS disallow something like a name only when it suits their cause.
