Then why are the dhimocrats coming out in record numbers to vote for a woman and a black in the primaries? Because they are energized by their chances of winning in November with either candidate. Meanwhile the GOP has a dhimi wanna-be as their candidate and many conservatives are disheartened and even mad at their stupid choice.
Many poo-pooed Bubba's chances back in 1991, and we paid a dear price for 8 years because we underestimated the dhimi's candidate.
Believe me, I hope you are right, but my experience tells me I see the same overconfidence raising it's head in the GOP ranks while offering a sub-par candidate, as it did back in 1991.
Increased primary turnout doesn’t translate into increased election turnout.
In the general election, more people turn out because they think it matter more. This time, on the democratic side, more of those voters have decided that the primary matters, so more have shown up. There’s no evidence that the increased primary turnout isn’t simply a larger number of the people who turned out in the 2004 general election.
If you manage to get 50% of the last election general voters to show up, instead of 25%, you really haven’t done much.
But, realise that if you really hate the idea of a black, or a woman, you will have been “motivated” to show up to vote for the opponent. So the increased turnout could be a reflection of how much the democrats DON’T want to vote for either of the two candidates.
