I believe that Americans will judge me not on the basis of what someone else said, but on the basis of who I am and what I believe in; on my values, judgment and experience to be President of the United States.

Obama....I am judging you on what you believe in and your values. Don’t we all get some of them at church? You are done sir!....Your two step is painfully obvious!

Having converted to Roman Catholicism from United Church of Christ, I have tried to put myself in Obama’s shoes on this one. When trying to find a good, Christian church some thirty years ago, I went to Lutheran, Presbyterian, Baptist, and Methodist. I have heard some loopy things said by ministers in meetings and from the pulpit. Point is, I didn't go back. The Evangelical and Reformed Church of my childhood no longer exists — it merged with the Congregationalists to form the United Church of Christ during the early ecumenical years.

Whenever I heard anything that deviated from the 14 years of bible study and Confirmation courses for a four hour every Saturday, for two years before I could take my first communion, I backed politely out of the door and waived “Adieu”. My theology was given to me by some of the greatest Christian men from Eden Seminary (which my grandmother helped to build with every little bit of extra money should could manage). Bottom line, Barry should have booked it the moment his Pastor jumped the shark.
