Obama camp: No, Newsmax, he wasn’t there for the sermon on July 22

An (almost) airtight alibi, refuting the charge that he was present in church and nodding along last summer when Wright indicted the “United States of White America.” So much for Newsmax’s credibility. People were ripping on me in the comments to the Juan Williams post for having called the Messiah a shrewd politician but just look at the game he’s got us playing here — trying to place him physically at the scene of any single sermon at a church he patronized for 20 years, as if absent that evidence we might have to believe his feigned ignorance. Newsmax’s info was bogus? Well, maybe he really didn’t know after all!

Actually, I like this explanation better. Wait for it. About halfway through.

Obama’s wife's comments about not being happy with America until Obama’s success in the campaign was the window into the church's influence. She let the cat out of the bag and there is nothing to put it back.

Because they agree with El Zibo on this.

And, since it is a matter of opinion, who is to say?

Who is El Zibo?

I assume, given the context.

That’s very optimistic of you, considering Rendell’s influence.

El Zibo= Rush Limbaugh and it rhyme with EL Rushbo. It is a bad swear and I want to use it every time I mention this guy.

You do realize El Rushbo is reading along on our threads today?... He has highlighted your comment on the timing being suspect that Barry O could be in church in the AM and make the speech at 1:30PM. Hang in there, you’re keeping us on our toes.

I think I get it now ... zibo is close to zero, etc. Creative, and you know how I like creative fabrications in nicknames, right?

Since when did Newsmax have credibility?

I've been wondering that myself. They don't exactly run Batboy stories, but dang close.

Obama deserves to get roasted over this story though - even though he wasn't at that particular sermon, I mean c'mon, the man officiated at Obama's wedding, and baptized his children. Generally speaking, you don't pick nutcases to baptize your children. I also didn't care for Obama mentioning that the man was a US Marine - that has nothing to do with it - loony Christian ministers are still loony, whether it's Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson, Ted Haggard, whoever. Except for Haggard, you knew what kind of nuts those previous guys were, and Wright's being a US Marine in his earlier days has no impact on his character later on.

I don't even know what's worse - having a loony Christian minister as your spiritual counselor for 20 years, or taking Chinese money for campaign donations...

Since when does a member of a church need an alibi for not attending a service?

Since their minister went off the deep-end while they were running for President?

Yes, the governor of the state has strong influence and is a big Hillary supporter. I just think when voters go to the polls in November, they’re going to - perhaps for the first time - question seriously whether another Clinton administration is actually going to help them out, farther on down the road.

Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton are quite different, I think. Hillary is much more liberal, at least from what I know. And being too liberal may be a plus for McCain, who is seen by many independents and moderates as being (far) less radical. They basically like him for the reasons we hate him: his willingness to cave in and work too much with the Democrats.

I am sorry to tell you my FRiend that Rush Limbaugh and many other talk show hosts are playing a very dangerous game here. They do not want McCain to be elected President and they know that Obama is very weak to win the general elections so they want Hillary Clinton to be the democrat nominee because she can beat McCain or at least she has a better chance than Obama to do so.

First and foremost Rush and his colleagues have only one goal in this election" "Destroy McCain at any cost".
