Spinner on CNN:

Melissa somebody — Blacks and others (whites) do not share the same vocabulary.

[What a load of BS — Can you understand that, Melissa?]

“Melissa somebody — Blacks and others (whites) do not share the same vocabulary.

Hmmm, not so fast.

Considering the “divergence” of the black culture from the mainstream (white) culture in America for the last, say, 25-35 years (since the civil rights movement spawned ideologies such as “I’m black and proud!”), I think this woman may be onto something.

This isn’t to say that ALL blacks are on that divergent (read: diverse) course. To the contrary, those blacks who shun racial peer pressure and choose to follow the traditional mainstream values (and who often do quite well by them) may be derided as the “Uncle Toms” and “oreos”. Hence black resentment towards folks like Clarence Thomas, Thomas Sowell, and others.

The same “vocabulary”? Perhaps.
The same “values”? Perhaps not.
