She also said she had seen Kelly Medina picked on, and that Kelly “handles it with such dignity and kindness, not fighting back.”
I grew up being the “runt” of my class, smaller than everyone else. Because of that, I was bullied a lot. I learned early on if you don’t fight a bully, he/she will just keep it up. It took until 4th grade before I found a way to stop it. I went “crazy” on one guy. I got the worst end of the fight, but the bullying prectically stopped.
The problem with the schools today is that even if you are totally passive and only the bully is doing the punching, you’re fighting and the school punishes everybody involved. The teachers etc. cannot be everywhere at once, and most are afraid of the students. The kids aren’t taught respect for authority at home, how can they be expected to show it in school?
Let the parents punish their kids, make the parents responsible for the actions of their minor children, and give the teachers back their paddles!!!
Its easier for the schools to drive out the victims than the culprits. Personnel experience with my sons at a jr HS with a socalled zero bullying tolerance policy.
