On the verge of victory
The war in Iraq promises to remake the Middle East

By Jack Kelly, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
In a speech in West Virginia Wednesday, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton described Gen. David Petraeus, the U.S. commander in Iraq, as "an extraordinary leader and a wonderful advocate for our military."
Just seven months ago Mrs. Clinton indirectly called Gen. Petraeus a liar (it would, she said, take a "willing suspension of disbelief" to believe what the general was saying about progress in Iraq since the troop surge began). This most recent Clinton flip-flop illustrates the sea change that's happened in Iraq since then.
Last week al-Qaida released a videotape purportedly from Osama bin Laden. He made no mention of Iraq, which is odd, because the Iraq war began five years ago last Wednesday, and bombast about Iraq had been the chief subject of his earlier videotapes. But on this anniversary there were no Iraq-related threats, no boasts of victory, perhaps because even supporters of al-Qaida would now find such boasts hollow.
Maybe the best indication that things are going better in Iraq is its virtual disappearance from television newscasts. In the first 10 weeks of this year, news of the war accounted for just 3 percent of newspaper and television news stories, compared to 23 percent the year before, according to a survey conducted by the Project for Excellence in Journalism.....

Say what?? Is Ann Coulter advising her :^)
Just one of many, many reasons why Mrs. Bill Clinton should never be the CIC, she proved her judgment in critical matters is lacking if not non existant.
I agree, but I do hope she and Obama keep punching each other through the spring and summer.
So do I and it looks like we’ll get our wish. I think the Carville, Richardson thing was a hoot and I believe there’s more to come. :)
ROTFLOL! I especially like the part about the warm pile of her wisdom!
AMEN To That!!!
Nope, her “flip-flop” on the good Gen. is not because of the success in Iraq. It was because she was speaking in
WV, where the largest number of young people per capita serve in the military. WV is a military state. She knows better than to talk against the war in this state. She still won’t win it however, and I doubt Obimbam can win it either. WV loves a hero and that is what they call McInsane. I hear them say, “I’m votin’ for the vet.”
Exactly right, Nan. Had she been speaking somewhere asking for votes from Moonbats, she would have had no problem trashing Petraeus, the military, and the war. The Clintons’ lies vary depending on the people they are courting and they think most of us are too stupid to know they speak out of both sides of their mouth.
