Hardball had some fun at Hillary's expense this evening over the mystery of The Sniper Who Didn't Fire. Credit Politico's Roger Simon with making the panel's most devastating remark.
Hillary's Heminwayesque claim has been that "we used to say in the White House that if a place is too dangerous, too small or too poor, send the First Lady." Chatting with host Chris Matthews, Bloomberg's Margaret Carlson, and Perry Bacon of WaPo, Simon observed what in retrospect might be obvious but something I hadn't previously heard anyone else remark.
ROGER SIMON: She says I was there because it was too dangerous for the President. It was too dangerous--so he sent his wife and only child? It makes no sense.

Didn’t she make a statement about Chelsea jogging in front of the WTC just before 9/11? Someone should bring up that gem again and subject it to the same scrutiny.
It makes prefect sense that Bill would send his wife and only child to a dangerous place. He is not a man, but a self-centered imbecile that is only interested in saving face to the public and has no real concern for the welfare of others, only how he can use them to make himself look important. Emphasis on the “look”...... He is just being “Bill”.....

Well, let me just say this. I have 22 years experience in the military. If I was about to be fired upon, or, was about to enter a ‘combat’ zone, we were never told to ‘sit’ on our flak jackets. We were told to WEAR THEM!!!!

Given the size of the target that is Hillary's backside, I'd say sitting on a flack jacket would have been the right decision in her case.

This may have been used on some comedy show already, but I envision a comedy skit where Hill and Chelsea are remembering their Bosnia trip, and when the bubble over Chelsea’s head is shown the scene from “Wag The Dog” is in it, the one with the young girl wandering among the devestation with the dogs eating in the background.
Hill’s remembering would include scenes from war movies, sniper fire and bombs going off, airplanes strafing a road of people running for cover, etc.
This entire episode exposes Hillary to the whole world. She finally stepped in it deep enough not to come out.
Perhaps Hill just “assumed” there would be people trying to kill her since she was on a mission that Bill asked her to go on.
Could be a simple case of well founded paranoia on her part.
“If Bill is sending, he must be hoping I'll get taken out by a sniper... yea, that's the ticket. If I take Chelsea, maybe they'll have to hold their fire...”
