When I got to Italy in 1991 AFRTS had two or three hours of NPR on daily. What a pack of lies! When the Republicans won the House in 1994 one of the first things they did for us was get Rush Limbuagh on AFRTS. By this time I was stationed in Germany. What a joy to hear him!
The left pitched a fit, though. So we only got the first hour. Just when it got interesting.

Not to get off subject but I will. If AFRTS went by their own programming rules and regulations there would have been changes. They are supposed to poll the men and women in the effected FPO/APO areas and make their decision off of those results. It ends up being the station manager's final decision no matter what the troops want. If he or she is a leftist then then the programming will lean toward “balance.” When I was in the AFRTS listening/viewing area the troops preference was for all 3 hours of Rush but AFRTS basically said “isn't one hour enough?”
