Apparently, how the Constitution works was left out of Nelson's schooling. No matter how sweeping the legislation, it still isn't an amendment or a constitutional convention.
As a Floridian, I have been embarrassed that this beady-eyed, Jimmie Carter grinin’, puposely slow talking, phoney is one of my Senators. Be that as it may, I am even more embarrassed the other one atually calls himself a Republican.
Bill Nelson is known as one of those guys who does the “I’m justlike y’all” charm dance every time he is due for election just like Bob Graham did. Once the deal is set, he goes right back to being the Democrat lap dog trying to earn his next Dog Bone with the far left.
This will be one of the results of a Dem controlling the WH and Congress. This, plus the Fairness Doctrine.
You are correct, this is not an amendment. BUT, they will find ways around this - as some states already have. They will lean on states to adopt a rule that instructs their electors to cast their votes for the winner of the national popular vote - not the winner of their state’s popular vote.
Remember, the constitution does NOT specify that electors have to vote as pledged.
This is at the core of my tag line, and why this election is not like the election of Carter. If we hand this election to Obama, it will NOT beget the second coming of Reagan - it will be the death of America as we know it.
Fortuneately, our Founding Fathers had the insight to anticipate A##holes like this.
