Report: Hamas membership in Gaza grows to some 20,000 gunmen
Published: 04.10.08, 12:13 / Israel News

The Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center at the Israel intelligence Heritage and Commemoration Center issued a report Thursday stating that Israel’s Gaza pullout has lead to outright Hamas control of the Gaza Strip.

The report indicates that Hamas has increased its militia to some 20,000 gunmen, which are now equipped with advanced anti-tank missiles and other advanced weaponry, allowing them to launch superior, larger caliber terror attacks within Israel.(Ynet)

“Israel fears Hamas serious about blowing up Rafah border”
By YAAKOV KATZ

ARTICLE SNIPPET: “Hamas is determined to go through with its threat to forcefully breach the border between the Gaza Strip and Egypt in the coming days, a senior Israeli defense official said Wednesday.

Egyptian troops went on high alert near the Rafah crossing after the threat was made. Egypt’s Foreign Ministry warned Gazans that any attempts to “infringe upon the Egyptian borders will be met with a serious and firm position.”

On January 23, Hamas blew holes in the border wall, allowing hundreds of thousands of Palestinians to stream into Egypt unchecked for 12 days and stock up on food and other goods made scarce due to Israeli sanctions on the flow of supplies into Gaza in the wake of daily Kassam rocket attacks from the Strip.

Hamas smuggled truckloads of explosives and weaponry into Gaza while the border was open, security officials said.”

MND-B Soldiers detain suspected EFP cell leader, seize cache

BAGHDAD – Multi-National Division – Baghdad soldiers detained a suspected criminal cell leader and seized several mortar rounds during a cordon and search operation in the Aamel Beladiya neighborhood, located in the Rashid district of southern Baghdad, April 9.

Soldiers from 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, currently attached to the 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, acted on a tip from a concerned Iraqi citizen and detained the individual who is believed to be the leader of an improvised explosive device production cell, responsible for making explosively formed projectiles.

The soldiers also discovered an IED made of five 60mm mortar rounds and a flash-bang grenade.

“The tip that led to the detention of this individual is further evidence that the people of Iraq will not tolerate criminals and criminal behavior,” said Col. Bill Buckner, MNC-I spokesman. “Iraqi and Coalition forces continue to work closely with Iraqi citizens to identify and bring to justice those who choose to disobey al-Sayyid Moqtada al-Sadr’s cease-fire pledge.”

“Bolivia raises hackles with ID”
By Martin Arostegui
April 10, 2008

ARTICLE SNIPPET: “SANTA CRUZ, Bolivia — The appearance of a Star of David on new national identity cards has alarmed opponents of President Evo Morales, who recall how the symbol was used to brand Jews in Nazi Germany.

Tiny six-pointed stars within a tight circle are printed on the back side of some, but not all, recently issued picture IDs in the Santa Cruz region. The mark was present on three cards seen by The Washington Times.”

No worries, Cindy.

This thread is a better source of information than any *news*paper I’ve got access to.....or any interest in wading through their BS to extract.

My journey through Egypt

“My journey through Egypt
A glimpse into the life of non-Muslims under Islamic oppression”
By Jesse Petrilla | Thursday, April 10, 2008

COMMENTARY SNIPPET: “I have recently returned to the United States from Egypt where I was on a fact-finding mission to see what life is like for non-Muslims who live under Islam. What I saw was a dire situation of oppression and discrimination that many in America and the West have all but ignored. A place with rampant police brutality and corruption, where non-Muslims are second-class citizens at best, who are brutally victimized on a daily basis. All this in a nation which is a popular U.S. tourist spot, and has been the recipient of American aid in excess of $28 billion in the last three decades[1]. I wanted to learn what life would be like if our enemies and their allies got their way. What I saw was an example of the harsh life in store for future American generations in Islamic-dominated regions of the U.S. if we do not work to bring attention to the issue of Islamic oppression now at this critical time in American history.

My journey began on an EgyptAir flight out of JFK. I was a bit surprised, to say the least, when the in-flight video came on prior to departure and instead of the usual safety video, a picture of a mosque flickered on and a deep-toned recorded voice came on reciting Islamic prayers out of the Koran. I’ve flown on Israeli airline El Al a number of times as well as hundreds of other global and U.S. airline companies, and I have never experienced a Christian prayer or a Jewish prayer on a flight, and could only imagine the reaction of Americans if an airline carrier were to try. Regardless of the policies and logic of other airlines, apparently a Muslim owned airline feels it fit to assume that all its passengers desire to hear a Muslim prayer, regardless of their faith. The safety video followed and my journey had begun; I was on my way to Cairo and Alexandria to get a feeling of what life was like there for non-Muslims.”
