And one wonders why Democrats so worship the law profession. Instead of making money the old fashioned way, IE. earning it, Democrats look to make money by blaming someone else for their shortcomings in life, then taxing them or look to the courts for reparation.

"the Majority Leader in each house is a lawyer. The Republican Party is different. President Bush and Vice President Cheney were not lawyers, but... "

Laywers are fast, slick, articulate talkers. I just can't see Bush as a lawyer.

Even more telling - look at the state legislatures which are overwrought with lawyers (think: California) and those who have virtually none (think : Nevada). And then look at the health of those states and the happiness of the populace with their governments.

I’d be willing to rest my judgement on the percentage of lawyers in a state legislature as to how much I would like them.

Perhaps Americans will embrace the truth that more lawyers with more power will only make our problems worse.

Lawyers in a vacuum are nothing. Lawyers with clients, that's a problem. So Mr. Shakespeare, do you kill the lawyers? Or do you kill the clients?

Definition of a bus load of lawyers going over a cliff with 1 empty seat,

A damn shame.

What did Bill Shakespeare say about them?

One of his characters said "First we kill all the lawyers"... however that was one of the Bad Guys.

Lawyers have their place, but it should be making laws, nor harassing people who haven't broken any laws or injured any individuals.

Lawyers on our side have kicked butt against the forces of Gun Grabbery.

Well, some of them. My son-in-law isn't that slick talking, although my daughter can be. She was told midway through law school that she'd never pass the bar. It was like waving a red flag in front of a bull. She did pass the bar, and on the first attempt.

The lawyer who represented the state in the custody hearing for my wife's great nieces, wasn't too slick either. Nor was her nieces lawyer. The lawyer for the girls was decent. FWIW, we have permanent custody. But the niece's lawyer advised her to go along with that. In fact all the lawyers did. The judge, also a laywer of course, was somewhat akin to the south end of northbound horse. Or a female dog.
