I’d say the same thing for McCain, as the press is just as ridiculous as the RNC. And while the press has given him a complete pass so far, the RNC trying to make his morning meal out to be a hard hitting political point is rather silly. I don’t think waffles equates to terrorists, abortion or his racist pastor, and no matter how the RNC tries, picking this particular instance isn’t going to win them any votes.

But the REAL question is:
Did he eat the waffle?
Yesterday he left half of it on his plate, and it was bid up to $20,000 on eBay before it was evidently withdrawn.

Brit Hume just had the e-bay waffle story on his show. Brit could hardly contain his laughter.

“It’s probably part of his behavioral change to get off of cigarettes.”
Good point. He picked a lousy time to quit smoking.
Come to think of it, he picked a lousy time to quit his pastor, too.

Is it a waffle when the ingredients mix, or when they begin to cook. Or when they are fully cooked. Or how about a month after they are cooked?
What about waffles made with refined flour, rendered nutritionless because of capitalist greed.
Waffles served in public school, with fruit or syrup? What about the eggs in waffles; eggs from cruel henhouses.
Waffles: leavened flour or not?
Waffles.

BO is trying to be clever :
Chomping down on sausage and waffles at Glider’s Diner today with Sen. Bob Casey at his side, Barack Obama declined, in a sense, to comment on Jimmy Carter’s meeting with Hamas.
Asked if he had heard that Carter reported a positive outcome from the meeting, Obama looked at the reporter who questioned him and said, “Why can’t I just eat my waffle?”
Asked again by the reporter, Obama bit. Not at the question but into a butter-covered bite of Glider’s specialty over-size Belgian waffles. With a wink this time ...
