Dang, if the assistant police chief is this freakin’ stupid, then I’m really having a problem thinking about the chief! This assistant chief has to be so dumb I’ll bet he can’t spell “MoM” backwards.

Yeah, those people should have waited until after they were robbed and then called the police (if they were still alivve...)

Oakland has a great airport. When I have business in SFCA, I always fly into Oakland because, half the time, SF is fogged in and they have to land at Oakland anyway. Plus, its close to Trader Vic’s.

Like Rush always says, Libs do not expect to be judged on their policies’ results, only their intentions. They want you to “stop packing heat to defend yourself” because they care about the criminals and do not want you to “take the law into your own hands” (defend yourself with lethal force). As long as they claim that a bloodbath will happen, then the intention to prevent it is all that matters.

"Well, just look at the horrible bloodbath that happened in Florida when they allowed concealed carry. Oh, it didn't happen. The gun-grabbers said that it most certainly would. "

Yeah, and despite the fact that the experiment has been repeated probably 30 times as OTHER stats have implemented CCW, with precisely the same results, the anti-gunners STILL keep trying to make the same disproven argument.

Yeah, the airport’s easy to get through, that’s true and it’s the only reason I’ve been there before. I think I’ll find another way, and luckily my job doesn’t currently require much travel.

That's two off the street, although it seems a shame they're still wasting oxygen.

Poor ammo choice. With Hydra-Shok rounds, the perps would be pushing up daisies.

A vigilante is someone who is not a law-enforcement officer who takes it upon themselves to enforce the law.

I don't think that's correct. I think a vigilante is someone who is not a judge who takes it upon themselves to adjudicate violations of law.

Non-LEOs, depending on jurisdiction, have authority to enforce laws under certain circumstances.

That said, what was cited in the article are clearly examples of self-defense, not law enforcement.

Maybe this guy should be worried about all the robberies instead.

It’s just that cop mentality that they’re absolutely the only ones who should be summoned during a crime. You should never summon Smith & Wesson, Glock, Beretta, Para-Ordnance, Heckler & Koch, Remington, Benelli, Mossberg, etc. during a crime. Always the police so they can draw the chalk outline around your body.

If you read this earlier article, you’ll see that the liquor store owner was shot first, and then returned fire! The police chief is an idiot!

My comment from the earlier thread on this subject:”‘The notion that restaurateurs, theater owners and soon enough, even moviegoers will be packing guns is too much to fathom in a place like Oakland or anywhere else in the Bay Area.
It’s the antithesis of why we live here, why so many people love it and the very foundation on which our modern culture is built.
Most Oakland residents are like the people in Livermore, Belvedere and Redwood City. By California standards, we’re law-abiding citizens who don’t have guns in our homes and don’t want armed guards on our city streets.”
Fools!

“after two store owners shot two robbers in recent days. “

That sounds like a good start, Oakland is a very dangerous place.

What some police don’t admit is that the criminal element leave the cities of easy marks and move to the cites where they don’t face an armed population.

The cops view self defense as bad.

It puts them out of work.

They’re only concerned about job security.

Maybe if the Chief would take the enforcement of the law back into his hands the citizens wouldn't have to take it into their own. Just a thought.

Sheepdogs are for keeping sheep in line, not protecting sheep from wolves.

The Chief clearly understands that fact.

That’s typical city cop-speak anywhere, not just in The People’s Republic of Kalifornistan.
